1)   that is more than 10,000 miles a year 111,000/8years
i have a 98 concorde and i only have 100,000 and drive alot. - Anthony

2)   Well according to the stats the avg person drives their vehicle about 15,000 miles a yr so that be slightly above 100,000 , meaning it be about the average mile.So if this is a vehicle you're interesting in buy keep in mind that the most important things are all related to how well a vehicle is maintained and what the selling price is , plus what if any warranty there is and doing your home work finding out what are the most common faults and if they've been fixed etc on the vehicle.

I hope that that helps and best of luck.By the way if you're looking to buy a used vehicle and need a insight or help etc the book called the Lemonade book on vehicles that comes out once a year is a great eye opener and a fantastic buyers tool, also make sure that you never rush into buying any vehicle new or used and get any used vehicle checked over by a reliable mechanic before ever agreeing to purchase it. - helpful bob

3)   Only if it hasnt been well maintained - rick b

Question 4
i have a 1998 chyrsler concord that the alarm is got the motor in lock down?...  the engine will not turn over . everthing works battery is good. does anybody know how to reset the factary alarm with out a scaner????????????????

Answers
1)   i have a 98 concorde if you do not have the alarm key ring you have to unlock the car on the front passenger side. i have to always unlock my car that way or my alarm system will go off. sounds like the anti-theft system is engaged (automatic shut down relay). if that don't help i would get under the hood to the main fuse box and pull out all the main fuses and disconnect the battery to see if it will reset. - Anthony

2)   Do you have one of those keys with a chip in it?? if that is the case try this,,, disconnect the battery for two hours, you may have a problem with the key and may need to put an scanner,
good luck.. - class4

3)   First, lets clear a few things up here, the ASD relay (Auto Shut Down) is a safety device. When the vehicle is in an accident, it cuts off power to the ignition system and fuel pump, in other words, it removes spark and fuel from the engine. It will not prevent the starter from spinning.

Also, if you have the Sentry key system (the keys have a grey plastic head on them), then if there's a problem with one key, try using a different key. But, it will go in lockout mode if you try a bad key a few times unsuccessfully. Let the car sit for an hour or two (with the battery connected!), this will let it run down the timer for the lockout mode. Sure, you can disconnect the battery, but you lose all of your settings (such as radio presets, and any personalized settings on the car).

Now, if it's not starting, and not even cranking, chances are it's something else because the Sentry system will normally let it start, then die within a few seconds.

Try unlocking the passenger side door if the alarm is being triggered (horn will blow and lights will flash when alarm is triggered). IF the alarm isn't being triggered, you have a different problem that could be any one of several different things. It'd be best to have it properly diagnosed instead of chasing the problem by replacing a bunch of different things before knowing for sure what's wrong. - Mark B
