Would it be a good investment to buy a 2005 Chrysler srt6?

Question 1
Would it be a good investment to buy a 2005 Chrysler srt6?...

Answers
1)   No, an investment is bought to make money. No car will ever increase in value (until its decades old but you get what I mean.)
If you meant is it a good car? Personally I think it looks great. Heres a more indepth review: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/car/04q3/chrysler_crossfire_srt-6-road_test - Landon

2)   Investment, no. Fun car, YES! Get the convertible. - C-Tech

3)   You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here - carinsurance.yoll.net - Ben

Question 2
How do I turn off the horn chirp in a 2008 Town and Country?...  I hate the stupid beep when I lock the doors.

Answers
1)   look in your owners manual for where your fuss are at. its unusually, fuses, were ever they are locate dd at on the veichile. not too saure on this type of veichile but its wwrre your fuses arte locatedd at in the veichile. i would take it too a garage mechanicc too figure out which color the fuses are too not pull the wrong little devill. but its l located somewhere were the fuses are att/. - Andrew Sinclair jr

2)   u cant...well u can but then ur horn wont work ....... - Karle

3)   Check your owners manual ...but not for the fuse to pull. The "chirping horn' is an option along with (usually) flashing headlights to let you know the vehicle is locked; there may be a way to select the type of lock warning or to deactivate the horn. Then again, you might be stuck.

Pulling a fuse will usually deactivate numerous items on that particular circuit ...not the way to go. If all else fails, a quick trip to the dealer should be able to produce and answer for you. - Sayswho

Question 4
how do you reset the sentry security system on a chrysler sebring?...  We didn't know my car had the special key. Its a 2005 Chrysler Sebring. My wife had a key made and tried using it. The dealer said if you do this 3 times the car is completely locked up and has to be towed to the dealer to be reprogrammed. A tire shop said they are trying to rip me off and when I get home just to put the original Chrysler key in, turn it to the on position and let it sit for 20 minutes and it will be back to normal. Is this true?

Answers
1)   The dealer is probably right. I just looked it up on the internet and you have a choice of the dealer or someone who can re-program it. This is what I found on the internet.

This can be accomplished by having the vehicle towed to a Dealership or by contacting an automotive locksmith that is outfitted with the proper programming equipment. - lar

2)   The sentry key security system will totally disable the car if someone tries to start it with the incorrect key. To reset the system requires putting a working skim key in the ignition, turn the key to the on position (not starting), and leave it on for an hour. I strongly suggest hooking up a battery charger so the battery does not go dead. Good luck. - C-Tech

Question 5
Please help! 2001 Chrysler Sebring Engine problems.?...  I'm thinking of buying a nice used convertible 2001 Chrysler Sebring, but there's a problem. It's engine has a knock in it and I'm worried that it probably needs replaced. The knock is steady and sounds like it's near the top. I can even feel it with my hand. I know almost nothing about vehichle mechanics and the people I've called have given mixed assesments. One guy says that it could go away after fifteen minutes of driving, and another says that in that same ammount of time, it could blow and be completely ruined. The owner asks a really good price for this car even if it had no engine and I really want it!

My questions are: What are possible causes of engine knocking? What is the best kind of professional to contact to diagnose and fix it? If it needs replaced, about how much would another used engine cost and what would the replacement cost be? And how much money would it be wise to spend on this particular car with no engine?

Answers
1)   2001 Sebring with no engine, I'd offer a few hundred bucks as it's not in running condition. Depends what else is gutted, etc.

The 2.7L V6 had some earlier problems with cooling, and as such it would head up the block more than necessary and cook the oil, causing sludge.

If the price is right, and the engine still runs (test drive it!) and after 15-20min the knock is still there, back away. If the knock goes away after the engine warms up, chances are good that it's due for an oil change and engine flush to free up some of the oil passages. Also, if you get it, only use synthetic oil for the better lube properties it brings, especially with the 2.7L engine.

There's another product called SeaFoam, directions are on the can. I've used it on several vehicles in the past, along with Amsoil Power Foam to clean the valves and other internal engine parts so they seat properly, provide proper combustion, etc.

Alas, if the owner can give you all or any of the previous maintenance history, look it over and make sure that oil changes were done regularly, if not, walk away. - 360ci

2)   Knock is from the rod bearings being done. It doesn't get better until they're replaced.

No engine? The most you should pay is 500 bucks. So unless this car is in that range (300-1000) leave it alone. This was when they started using their own (non-mitsubishi) engines. I believe 1 is still a mitsubishi engine in 2001 (sebring coupe 2.4). - Hank Scorpio
