Answers
1)   If youve managed to pull the broken bit out of the keyhole you should still be able to get one cut by a locksmith. They can measure the key and cut a new one. Cant really be welded or rejoined unless you are really good at brazing. - Mr P

3)   I use to cut keys for a living and if you've both pieces a good key shop or locksmith should be able to cut you a couple of keys from it without charging any extra money.

Question 5
Plymouth voyager makes pinging noise when accelerating sometimes?...  My mothers car makes a pinging noise when it accelerates after at a stop or when you try to accelerate quickly. It also rumbles. Could this just be the type of fuel we put in to clean out the old gas? It's been sitting in the yard for awhile. Or is it the throttle body or drive shaft hitting something?
Also it needs to have the o-rings replaced and some more inspecting done with the fuel rails.
I realize it is a popping noise

Answers
1)   Fill it with the highest octane gas you can get, and put in a bottle of Octane booster ! After about 2 tanks-full, the pinging should stop. Sounds like the engine is worn out ! Options: Replace engine. Overhaul old engine. Trade car in on a better one. - Sweetdaddy Rex

2)   What year, what engine size and how many miles?
As far as the pinging noise, run brand name fuel like Chevron, dosnt matter what octane, and when was your last tune up? - rick b

Question 3
Convertible Question?...  Ok...I drive a 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible and I wanted to know if there's a way to put the top down with the keys instead of waiting till I'm in the car.

Also, is it safe to bring this convertible into an automatic car wash? I live in an apartment complex and there's no place to wash my car with a hose so I go to the gas station to save money as opposed to paying for hand car washes.

Thanks

Answers
1)   i would think there isnt if the button is on the inside.
and i personally dont think its safe it could rip the top from pressure because automatic car washes CAN not say it happens all the time but CAN even break the glass of sunroofs so thats why i say its not safe. and they have some car washes that just have stalls to where YOU can hand wash it instead of paying someone to do it. - palikane <3

2)   well some idiot decided if a theif cannot open the car from the outside, it would be safer hahaha dummy never thought that a soft top gets sliced with a knife I guess, sounds like a safety feature, as far as car washes go, find a brushless car wash or do the do it yourself thing, the convertible tops are durable when new, however after several years of sun they tend to be much less flexible, find out what is a good product to keep your top conditioned and so it does not dry out as fast, my friend always did his once a year with petroleum jelly, I dont know if that is a recommended procedure but it worked for him best of luck - dick car guy

3)   Hello. On some 2007-2010 Sebring Convertibles the key fob has an extra button that allows you to let the top down while outside the car. Check the owner's manual or with a dealer to see if yours has that option. Your Sebring is actually a metal folding top covered with canvas. It is probably safe to go throught a good car wash, the high pressure spray may force water past the rubber seals. I would look for an automatic brushless wash. - C-Tech

Question 4
is 300 chryler agood car?...

Answers
1)   Depends on what ur lookin for! I'm told it IS, IF you get the larger engine. In midwest, I wasn't thrilled with its winter performance (traction). - jeffstorm2

2)   Not really. It is stylish, but unreliable and the plastics and interior quality is altogether cheap. Lots of rattles and squeaks are noticible. The engines have a lot of power but the car is too heavy for it to go fast. For the price buy a nice upscale car like a Acura TL, BMW 325i or a Mercedes-Benz C300. All of these cost around 31,000 and a nice Chrysler 300 Limited costs well over 35,000 dollars. Don't know if this choice is even a question. - Fred

3)   the 300 is a good car especially with all wheel drive. the 3.5 is a strong engine but the 5.7 and 6.1 have very sick v8 rumbles to them also reliability on them from my experience has been better than average... do not get an acura Tl they are pure garbage... - Nick

I have a 2007 PT Crusier with 20,000 miles on it...?...  It is using a quart of oil every 1000 miles or so.. I have had it to the dealer and they tell me all PT Cruisers use oil like that..Chrysler says that won't really do anything even though it was still under warranty when I brought it to their attention..Does anyone else have at Cruiser that uses oil like that?

Answers
1)   Your car should not be leaking or burning up any oil. Take it to an independent shop. Get their diagnosis (in writing) and take it to the Chrysler dealership if they say something is wrong. Then demand that Chrysler fixes it or you will take legal action. If they don't fix it, take it up with Chrysler headquarters. Then with the BBB or your local consumer protection agency. - Captain Awesome

2)   Your car shouldn't be losing or using oil like that. It should be covered by your 5 year powertrain warranty. Bring it into a different dealer. Probably lots of people have that problem and probably lots of dealers tell them there's nothing wrong. Now you know why Chrysler went bankrupt. - Howard L

Question 5
what is wrong with my 2004 chrysler pacifica when I press on the brakes and it makes a crunching sound?...  it makes a crunching popping noise when i down on the brakes and come to a stop. i don't know if it is the brakes or struts or shocks?

Answers
1)   1 look at pads..most cars you can look see through spaces in wheel see if rotors are grooving/grinding
2 go to shop..most will check for free
3 don't let it wait,,,easy to ruin rotors,adding 200 dollars to brake job. - pedro7of9

2)   The brake pads are glued to a metal backing that allows them to be placed in the caliper. When you step on the brake pedal, the brake pads come in contact with a metal rotor. This friction stops your car. When the brake pad material wears completely out, then when you apply your brakes, you are left with the metal backing coming into contact with the metal rotor. The crunching sound you hear is the 2 different metal objects rubbing against each other.

The repair is to replace the brake pads & rotors. - BR Tiger fan

3)   I don't know but it sounds to me like your brake pads are down to the metal. - Jackolantern

Is a 1999 Plymouth Voyager a good purchase?

Question 1
Is a 1999 Plymouth Voyager a good purchase?...  I just purchased a 1999 Plymouth Voyager for $1200. It has a 3.3liter V6 motor. Its in great shape and runs great. The only thing is the miles are high at 160,000. Is this a good purchase and does anyone have good or bad reviews of this vehicle?
thank you

Answers
1)   That is the same as a Dodge Grand Caravan. They are fine vehicles. As with anything, the better you take care of it, the nicer it will stay. Take it in, Flush ALL of the fluids and be sure to use MOPAR transmission fluid for the trans or you will be sorry. I am a mechanic and own a 98 Grand Caravan with 160k. I have changed the brake master, Booster, sway bar bushings, Sway bar links, and this week-end I am going to put new rear hub bearings in as the wife is making a trip to Canada. I am very happy with this car and I think you will be as well. Just take care of it. :-) - P And T R

2)   This vehicle is splendid! Well... back in 19 NINETY NINE! Nah. It's still great. Both this and the Dodge GC. Just check it to make sure you aren't getting a damaged car.. - awesomelock

3)   They're good vehicles and will last a long, long time when cared for properly.

One note, though, no need to flush ALL fluids. Flush the coolant, but everything else can just be changed out or left alone.

Many flush services are a means to flush money out of your wallet, but aren't really necessary for anything else. In particular, trans fluid flush, power steering fluid flush, and fuel injection system flush (more often referred to as a fuel injection service or cleaning). If these were necessary, they'd be listed in the maintenance schedule. - Mark B

4)   I owned a 92 Dodge Caravan which is the same a Voyager. I sold it in good running order at over220,000 miles. Had to replace the trans at 180,000 miles. I also had a Chrysler Voyager (yes Chrysler made a van with the Voyager logo, but they were few). It ran great for well over 100,000 miles until I traded it for a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country and we love it. All car manufactures have a flag ship in which they put extra quality in the vehicle because they sell so well and is their bread and butter. In Chrysler it is the minivans. In my opinion, after working for Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth for 23 years, the 3.3/3.8 liter is the best engine ever put on the market in any American made vehicle. Take care of yours and that $1200 will be a hell of a good deal! - Jackolantern

Question 2
Chrysler cirrus horn not loud?...  I have 99 chrysler cirrus and the horn isnt as loud as my old one and i was wondering is there a way to turn up the volume on the orginal factory horn or do i have to buy a new one?

Answers
1)   You have to buy a new one. - Boring

2)   a new one is probably best but you would probably be best not going through the manufacturer for it - HereiAm

3)   It's possible your horns aren't working correctly, or only one is working (it has a high note and low note horn). There is no way to turn them up louder.

Factory horns will cost about $70 each, so check with the local aftermarket parts store to see what they have. Best to remove the horn and bring it with so you can make sure it will work. Most factory horns will use a plug-in connector, which may have to be modified to fit an aftermarket horn. - Mark B

4)   DUDE YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE A BRAND NEW ONE.. there is actually something wrong with it. Either the horn itself, or the wires loosened up over the weather. - awesomelock

I asked about the noise that I was hearing on my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica and everyone said it was the brakes.?...  I got new brakes and rotors and the noise is still there. What could it be the suspension (shocks or struts)? It has my wife afraid to drive it now. Just spent $350 on the brakes and rotors that did not stop the noise, someone have any ideas?

Answers
1)   A mechanic? - Chris

2)   it is kind of difficult to hear that noise you are talking about on Yahoo Answers...I cannot seem to find the volume button so that I can hear the NOISE you are talking about. What can I do to hear your noise better? Uh....there are a lot of things cars have that can make noise when the are broken or going to break. Did you actually have your mechanic listen to the noise before you asked him to fix the breaks that people diagnosed on this Answers site?????????????????? Knock, knock.... - Doggs2

3)   A mechanic would be a good stat. However, a description of the sound would be better. Does it squeal, hiss, hum, clunk ,r go waka-waka-puff-puff? Does it make the sound when you aren't pressing the brakes? How about when you are running the engine but the vehicle isn't moving? Does it always make it, or just for a couple minutes after warming up? Is it coming from the front or the rear, driver's or passenger's side? - unknown

4)   nobody knows the noise/if its upset by driving on straight road and slightly swerving its wheel bearings/need more info - ken k

Question 4
what is wrong with my 2004 chrysler pacifica when I press on the brakes and it makes a crunching sound?...  it makes a crunching popping noise when i down on the brakes and come to a stop. i don't know if it is the brakes or struts or shocks?

Question 5
Why does the airbag light keep coming on in the 2006 pt cruiser? Help?...  I have a 2006 PT Cruiser that I just bought back in March with 27,400 miles on it. A couple of days ago when I was driving back home from work, the airbag light came on with the chime and it went off after about 20 seconds or so. Today, as I was driving home from school, the light came back on and stayed on until I turned the ignition off. I turned the ignition back on and it didnt come on. The only thing that was in my passenger seat was my purse. I know the manual says that you should take it to the dealer if the light comes on while driving but has anyone had this problem before? and if I have to take it to a dealer, is it going to cost a whole lot of money?...

Answers
1)   Does the PT Cruiser have a little clock in the dash like the 300? My passenger airbag light stayed on too and the dealer told me it was because of the clock spring (no joke I know it makes no sense).. whatever that is or means. I know they werent joking either because I heard the same from multiple people.. - Jason B

2)   The clocks-spring has nothing to do with a clock in the dash, it is a part behind the steering wheel that connects the airbag in the steering wheel (along with the horn and other steering wheel controls) to the rest of the vehicle.

The clock-spring is actually a long wire tape wound up in a round holder. It's designed to allow the wheel to turn without losing contact between the steering wheel and the rest of the vehicle. With all of the turning, sometimes the wires inside will start to break apart, which could be the problem causing the light to come on, but it could also be something else, too.

Take it to the dealer for this problem to diagnose it and repair. I wouldn't trust an airbag issue to someone who might not know what they're doing.

Also, ask them if they can help you at all with it since it only has 27,400 miles, even though it's out of warranty by time. They may not, but it never hurts to ask. If they say they can't, then you could still call Chrysler at 1-800-992-1997 and ask them if there's anything they can do to help you. Again, the answer may be no, but it never hurts to try.

------------
If it's sensing weight in the passenger seat, it will show the airbag off symbol, which is a picture of a person in a seat with an X through a circle that represents the airbag. This indicator is above the A/C and heater control knobs, if that's the light that's coming on, it's from the purse being in the seat.

The airbag light under the speedometer (next to the left turn signal indicator arrow) is the main airbag system light. It's a picture of a person sitting in a seat with a circle representing the airbag. If this is the light that's on, it's detecting a problem with the system. - Mark B

3)   Try driving it with the purse in the floor. The seat has a sensor built into the seat cushion part. If it detects a pressure, then the computer thinks there is a person in the seat and warns you that the seat belt isn't being used and turns the light on. The reason being is that if a child or person isn't wearing a seat belt, during air bag deployment in an accident, the air bag could injure the child or person. - Jackolantern

Chrysler cirrus horn not loud?

Question 1

Question 2
Any idea why my key won't turn in my 1999 Plymouth Voyager?...  So I just got this car from my dad. It's a great car and I have been able to start it earlier today without much of an issue but when I turned into my driveway to quickly grab something and I came back out I can't turn the key. It will beep to tell me I have a key in the ignition, the key will un/lock the doors, but it won't budge.

I tried turning the wheel, I tried flipping it over, I tried wiggling it. It just won't budge. Any suggestions?

Answers
1)   is it still in gear? - imagine nation

2)   try moving the shifter, its probably the steering lock pin so really give the wheel a turn or shake - mykwilwin

3)   Apparently this is a problem with a lot of cars, but is more so with the Voyager series for some reason. I would have to guess that you parked the car with your tires not straight. If this is the case, your "steering is off centre it is pushing back on the column lock so you have alot of friction to overcome to turn the key". For most cars just turning the steering wheel (something that will turn the tires even if the car is off) will relieve the pressure and fix the problem, but it appears as though the Voyager won't do this for some reason (perhaps power steering).

As the source I found said says:
"An immediate fix is to tap on the metal ignition lock (right where the key goes in) firmly with a solid object that fits the diameter (or less) of the ignition lock. Usually, this will free the lock until you park crooked again." The head of a screwdriver should fit perfectly.

Make sure you are covering the ignition lock and not inserting the head of the screwdriver into the hole where the key goes in. The screwdriver should cover the borders of the key hole while not being over the plastic that protects the key hole. (don't want to crack that plastic after all, just relieve pressure on the metal ignition lock).

I hope this helps! - Douglas L

Question 4
Resell Price of 1970 Plymouth Duster?...  Well, this is my first post. So hello everyone.

First off, i'm 17 and i currently own a 2004 Ford Mustang V6.
I have been wanting to sell it and have been hoping to get $8,500 out of it at most.

Secondly, I have been offered a trade by someone who owns a 1970 Plymouth Duster 340. It wouldn't be something i would want to keep for a long time, depending on how much it would be worth. My dad's friend knows a lot about cars so I was going to get him to check it out before i went through with it to make sure everything's okay. I am wanting some advice on this as I don't know much about classic cars.
I have seen prices for these all over the place on equally nice looking Duster's. So im not really sure what to expect if I try to resell this.

About the car he has.
It is restored with a rebuilt 340 engine, less than 1,000 miles after rebuild.

I don't really know much about it other than that. Im just wanting some feedback from some people that actually know what they're talking about. Because I don't know what to think when it comes to classic cars.
Also, what problems should i be looking for or worried about. Or what other considerations should I have.
Thank you for any feedback.

2)   First of all, while it looks nice, it is not original. Neither the exterior or the engine are correct for this model. That means that ultimately it's worth less. Exactly how much it's worth is really hard to say without a close examination, because that's what is needed to put a value on it. Certain Dusters in the right condition could conceivably approach 100k, others might be worth less than your Mustang.
You will probably find it gets worse mileage and doesn't handle as well as your car. It may not be as comfortable or have all the conveniences you are used to. - D

3)   The duster is worth more than the ford....Your fuel milage in the duster will not be all that good...Parts are fairly cheap and any shade tree mechanic like me can fix it...Check out ebay just to see how much the duster is worth... - Johnny Rotten

Question 4
pt cruiser headlight problem?...  passenger head light keeps going out i have replaced light and wiring plug and nothing i think there is a relay somewhere please help.

Answers
1)   Recheck the wires & connections. - jason

2)   I'd supply the headlight socket ground wire a new solid chassis or negative battery terminal connection. You could be thinking about a daylight running lights relay but I'd don't it be faulty bec it more then likely blow both headlights if it had such a problem.Trace the wiring bec there could be a bare or crimped wire that is shorting out or causing the bulb to blow, plus I'd find each of the fuses for the headlights and lean the legs or pins of these fuses with a file or wire brush, then use the automotive anti-moister circuit protection jell on the fuse pins before putting them by in.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way I'd do both the headlight socket grounds , plus change both the headlights bec headlight bulbs work as a team. - helpful bob

1)   Pink, the blinking light is telling you that you are in danger of burning out your catalytic converter because the engine is missing and pumping raw air into it and can cause it to over heat and burn down. This is usually caused by bad plugs and bad plug wires. If this is the case, please don't just change the plugs but change the wires also. It will also leave a code in the power train controller and turn the light on. When the controller sees the engine missing for a predetermined number of revolutions of the crank shaft, it will make the light blink. - Jackolantern

Will an full size upright piano fit inside a Chrysler Town and Country?

Question 1
Will an full size upright piano fit inside a Chrysler Town and Country?...  I found a generous person giving away an upright piano and I am wondering if it will fit inside my van. I am not sure of the exact measurements. And how heavy do MOST upright pianos weigh? Is it worth hiring someone?

Answers

2)   No way it'll fit inside a T&C.

You can borrow or rent a truck or flat trailer, or get a U-Haul truck for a day to move it. You'll want a few strong people to help you move it.

You could also pay a company to move it for you if you don't feel like doing it yourself. Check the phone book for furniture movers, or if there's a local music store or piano tuning/repair guy in your local area, you could ask them who to use. - Mark B

Question 5
where is the computer located on a 1995 Chrysler LHS?...

Answers
1)   If you're looking for the main comp=PCM check under the air filter housing. - helpful bob

2)   First, the fact that you asked where the "computer" is is an indication that you have no idea of what's wrong with the car, there's at least 6 control modules on this car (each control module is like a computer for the specific area of the car that it controls).

Second, if you don't know where the "computer" is, my first question to you is: Why do you think it needs replaced?

Chances are it doesn't need the computer replaced and will need something else to fix it. If it was professionally diagnosed, then fine, get it replaced. If it was a buddy, or someone who thinks they know about cars that said something along the lines of "it probably needs a new computer", or if this is just a guess on your part, then don't replace the computer.

Before replacing an expensive item like this, it's always best to have it professionally diagnosed to find out the true problem. A diagnostic charge will usually run somewhere in the $75 to $125 range, depending on local labor rates. This will be less than replacing a perfectly good PCM, and should pinpoint the problem. - Mark B

Question 2
2007 Town & country Lx is it a good car?...  Local car dealer has one for $7995 with 100,000 miles on it. Offers 3 months power train warranty. Is this a good car to have. Does it run good, or does it need a lot of maintenance

Answers
1)   I see it as a old-timers car. Hopefully they thow in a free box of stogies. Had a Chrysler ... ONCE ... never again. - Client_u

2)   You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carinsurance.yoll.net - Mick

3)   Check with the Red Book dealers price. If it is in excellent condition, then it may be worth a little more than dealer book price, but not much. I worked for Chrysler dealership for 23 years and have owned 3 minivans that served me way beyond expectations. I am driving a 2005 Town and Country that I love. Chrysler minivans are the flag ships of the company so they put all the best stuff into them. The 3.3/3.8 engines are far superior than most V6 out there including foreign makes. If the van is in good condition, 100,000 miles won't hurt it. But I would spend a little to have it checked over by an independent mechanic before I bought it. And be sure to get the power train warranty in writing with a break-down on exactly what is covered because Chrysler itself stops warranty at 100,000 miles. And no, they don't need much maintenance. - Jackolantern

Question 3
how much should i pay for a new bcm (body control mudule) to be purchased and installed?...  the dealer is trying to charge me over $700 for a new bcm. is this a good price? or are they getting over....? please help!

Answers
1)   Whats the make, year and model of vehicle? - helpful bob

2)   Depending on the vehicle it sounds about right .You cannot take one from another vehicle and just put it in. - Gregory A

3)   You know imhim, like all other things, maybe you could shop around to other dealers by phone. Just ask for the parts dept. And also know that you may not get a new BCM, but a refurbished one which should be just as good. Also check with your local parts stores and you could find an after market one that could very well be made by the same company minus the Chrysler logo for a lot less money. Once the Chrysler or Mo Par logo goes on, the price doubles. But be sure to use the parts no. from your PCM to get another one. They come in 3 different types to match what all your car has on it. Basic, Mid range and high end. - Jackolantern

Question 4
can i get my money back from chrysler?...  my mother died on dec 15. i called crysler finacnial to tell them. they would not give me any information on her account, unless i was exector of the estate. i said i was. then CF told me i had to make payments toward the account. but still could not give me any info, that i was to goto the local dodge dealer and have them do this, so i made payments, till i could find time to go down to dealership, they called and got all kinds of info by just giving them their employie number. at this time they said i had to be court appointed exeutor. then when i called again later, they said they would not help me at all. after 5 min of discussing, i asked sence im not responsable to pay for this account, why was i told i had to. no reply from CF. then i ask sence im not responsable and you can not give me any help on her account, then can i have all the money i paid into this account back, CF response was: you are entitled to get the money back, because your name is not on the account, we are not going to give it back, because we dont have to, and we are not going to. now the question is, how do i get my money back, do i have to hire a attorney or can i file through a goverment agency, like consumer protection, bbb, or any other services?

Answers
1)   If you made payments on a vehicle that your mother owned, they were credited against the loan balance. If doesn't matter who made the payments. They stay there and CF isn't obligated to give you anything back.

When your mother died, you had several options. You could have called CF as executor of the estate and asked them to let you take over the loan and ownership of the vehicle (if you wanted it). You could have purchased the vehicle from your mother's estate and paid off the CF loan (again, if you had wanted the car). As executor, you could have continued to make payments from your mother's estate and then sold the car, using the proceeds to pay off the loan and obtain a clear title for the buyer. Or, you could have taken the car back to the dealership, handed them the keys, and said, "Here you go".

You, individually, as the executor of the estate, have no personal responsibility to make loan payments, and they can't make you. If someone told you you "had" to make payments, they are full of bull.

And, if you had taken the car back to the dealer and dropped it off, so what? CF would have had it picked up and re-sold it then billed your mother's estate for any remaining amount due to them. And, if your mother's estate did not have the assets to pay, what are they going to do? Sue her? She's dead. If you managed your mother's estate responsibly, they can't come after you. - Mike

2)   Good luck with CF. It took 2 months and 6 phone calls just to get a cleared title from them. I can only imagine how bad it is going to be to get money back.

Do what the other guy said. Take the car to the dealer and walk away. - Joe Mama

Question 5
What Lambda O2 sensor do I need for a 3.3 Grand Voyager 2001 ?...  I know it is a bosch but without taking it out I do not know if its a three or four wire, can anyone help, many thanks

Answers
1)   there are more then one o2 sensor maker, make sure you get the one will fit in your car, not by looking at the maker. It work like the spark plug makers.

I would say get it from ebay..

that's the one.

make sure it's Automatic

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lambda-O2-Oxygen-Sensor-CHRYSLER-Grand-Voyager-3-3-04-/270571464938?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3eff50e8ea - King

2)   A quick browse just brought up a couple of Fuel Parts numbers, depending on if its the front (pre-cat) sensor needed or rear (post-cat) sensor.
The front one is LB2050, the rear is LB2051. Most motor factors should recognise these numbers as most use Fuel Parts, either as their main or back-up supplier.

PS the fact that its a Bosch one on there should not make a difference, these people know their stuff and do a lot of research . - Crabclaw002

Where do I put hydraulic fluid for a 1997 Sebring Convertible?

Question 1
Where do I put hydraulic fluid for a 1997 Sebring Convertible?...  The top suddenly stopped working. We moved it manually and it worked a little so that we could close it. I hear the motor working when I push the button, so I hope it's just fluid.
Where is the reservoir for the hydraulic fluid located? Do I have to remove the back seat? What else could be causing the convertible top not to raise correctly? It will go down, but not up. I hear the top motor running when I push the lever that raises the top.

Answers
1)   its an electric motor - Dave87gn

2)   You are probably correct that your Fluid level is low. First, make sure the top is up and latched securely. Remove the seat cushion and seat back. Remove the reservoir plug and check the fluid level. If it is low you need to inspect the entire system for leaks.(it went SOMEwhere). Fill with Dextron2(or3) automatic transmission fluid to the BOTTOM of the fill hole, put the cap back, then lower and raise the top a few cycles to make sure all the air is bled from the system. If there are no other problems the top should work fine. Hope this helps a little. Good luck! - Mark a

3)   If the top stopped working and you can hear the motor run, then you have a leaking line or one or both power top cylinders are leaking. The motor is behind the back seat. You will need to remove the back seat cushions and both side panels for access to the power top components. It is easier to access everything with the top down. Good luck. - C-Tech

Question 2
Will a 1997 Chrysler Town & Country Engine fit a 1998 Chryler Grand Caravan?...

Answers
1)   It's not fitting because the parts are changing. - Jhon

2)   As long as its the same engine it will drop right in - Gregory A

3)   Yes it will. But be sure it is the same cubic inch engine. For instance, if the engine you pull out is a 3.3, be sure you go back with a 3.3 because the 3.8 uses a different power control module. The engines will swap, but the PCM will not be compatible with the new one. The 3.0 will only swap with another 3.0 and the 4 cylinder or diesel with only swap with the same type engine being pulled out. - Jackolantern

Question 5
Is a 2003 PT Cruiser with 122k miles a good deal?...  The car is a at a used car dealership and their asking for $4955 and I'm a young lady that does not much about cars but knows I need a reliable car?

Answers
1)   thats ridiculously over priced - Dave87gn

2)   I have never been a big fan of the PT Cruiser. I have never owned one, but have rented them a few times. The ones I have driven seem to get rather poor fuel mileage. I was expecting to get better than 20 MPG from a car of that size.

The miles are a bit high for a 7-year old car, but Kelley Blue Book says the price is about average from a dealer. Before you make a serious offer on the car, ask if you can take it to your own mechanic to have it inspected. The question I always ask the mechanic is "Would you buy this car for your wife/gf to drive?" If he says 'yes', then it's probably a fair deal.

Good luck! - JetDoc

3)   hopefully you didn't buy the car yet if you did you will regret it am a automotive tech i own a pt (part time) cruiser the are terrible cars with alot of problems good luck. - Robert
