is chrysler bent on destroying itself?

Question 1
is chrysler bent on destroying itself?...  they discontinued chrysler pacifica and then they discontinued chrysler aspen. i liked both these vehicles. Yet they continue making pt cruiser which is crap. Who will now buy such cars?

Answers
1)   uh - the last cruiser will be made this summer

and I think BHO is helping Chrysler deteriorate nicely

I wear the symbol of a closed successful dealership

can't wait until November

God Bless America - tom4bucs

2)   How many of each, chrysler pacifica and chrysler aspen, do you plan to purchase?

You may like them but if Chrysler can't sell enough of them to make a profit they will be discontinued ... standard business practice.

You may not like the PT Cruiser, but since they are still being sold enough people are buying them for Chrysler to make a profit. - t-bar

3)   I agree with T, just because you like those cars dosnet mean you are the authority on the automotive marketing div of Chrysler, Yet I like the old model of the Fifth Ave but then again they dont make it any more. Why? Its called business and what sales it what stays on the show room floors. Pt be it crap or not it sales. - rick b

4)   pt cruiser is history,as far as destroying themselves no...Have,nt you seen the new Challenger? If not go to your local dragstrip to see one in action...I think they are trying to get back to their roots personally... - Johnny Rotten

Question 2
I asked about the noise that I was hearing on my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica and everyone said it was the brakes.?...  I got new brakes and rotors and the noise is still there. What could it be the suspension (shocks or struts)? It has my wife afraid to drive it now. Just spent $350 on the brakes and rotors that did not stop the noise, someone have any ideas?

Answers
1)   A mechanic? - Chris

2)   it is kind of difficult to hear that noise you are talking about on Yahoo Answers...I cannot seem to find the volume button so that I can hear the NOISE you are talking about. What can I do to hear your noise better? Uh....there are a lot of things cars have that can make noise when the are broken or going to break. Did you actually have your mechanic listen to the noise before you asked him to fix the breaks that people diagnosed on this Answers site?????????????????? Knock, knock.... - Doggs2

3)   A mechanic would be a good stat. However, a description of the sound would be better. Does it squeal, hiss, hum, clunk ,r go waka-waka-puff-puff? Does it make the sound when you aren't pressing the brakes? How about when you are running the engine but the vehicle isn't moving? Does it always make it, or just for a couple minutes after warming up? Is it coming from the front or the rear, driver's or passenger's side? - unknown

4)   nobody knows the noise/if its upset by driving on straight road and slightly swerving its wheel bearings/need more info - ken k

Question 3
Convertible Question?...  Ok...I drive a 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible and I wanted to know if there's a way to put the top down with the keys instead of waiting till I'm in the car.

Also, is it safe to bring this convertible into an automatic car wash? I live in an apartment complex and there's no place to wash my car with a hose so I go to the gas station to save money as opposed to paying for hand car washes.

Thanks

Answers
1)   i would think there isnt if the button is on the inside.
and i personally dont think its safe it could rip the top from pressure because automatic car washes CAN not say it happens all the time but CAN even break the glass of sunroofs so thats why i say its not safe. and they have some car washes that just have stalls to where YOU can hand wash it instead of paying someone to do it. - palikane <3

2)   well some idiot decided if a theif cannot open the car from the outside, it would be safer hahaha dummy never thought that a soft top gets sliced with a knife I guess, sounds like a safety feature, as far as car washes go, find a brushless car wash or do the do it yourself thing, the convertible tops are durable when new, however after several years of sun they tend to be much less flexible, find out what is a good product to keep your top conditioned and so it does not dry out as fast, my friend always did his once a year with petroleum jelly, I dont know if that is a recommended procedure but it worked for him best of luck - dick car guy

3)   Hello. On some 2007-2010 Sebring Convertibles the key fob has an extra button that allows you to let the top down while outside the car. Check the owner's manual or with a dealer to see if yours has that option. Your Sebring is actually a metal folding top covered with canvas. It is probably safe to go throught a good car wash, the high pressure spray may force water past the rubber seals. I would look for an automatic brushless wash. - C-Tech

Question 4
I have a 2007 PT Crusier with 20,000 miles on it...?...  It is using a quart of oil every 1000 miles or so.. I have had it to the dealer and they tell me all PT Cruisers use oil like that..Chrysler says that won't really do anything even though it was still under warranty when I brought it to their attention..Does anyone else have at Cruiser that uses oil like that?

Answers
1)   Your car should not be leaking or burning up any oil. Take it to an independent shop. Get their diagnosis (in writing) and take it to the Chrysler dealership if they say something is wrong. Then demand that Chrysler fixes it or you will take legal action. If they don't fix it, take it up with Chrysler headquarters. Then with the BBB or your local consumer protection agency. - Captain Awesome

2)   Your car shouldn't be losing or using oil like that. It should be covered by your 5 year powertrain warranty. Bring it into a different dealer. Probably lots of people have that problem and probably lots of dealers tell them there's nothing wrong. Now you know why Chrysler went bankrupt. - Howard L

3)   I have an 02 and burns no oil - pickmefirstplz

Question 5
what is wrong with my 2004 chrysler pacifica when I press on the brakes and it makes a crunching sound?...  it makes a crunching popping noise when i down on the brakes and come to a stop. i don't know if it is the brakes or struts or shocks?

Answers
1)   1 look at pads..most cars you can look see through spaces in wheel see if rotors are grooving/grinding
2 go to shop..most will check for free
3 don't let it wait,,,easy to ruin rotors,adding 200 dollars to brake job. - pedro7of9

2)   The brake pads are glued to a metal backing that allows them to be placed in the caliper. When you step on the brake pedal, the brake pads come in contact with a metal rotor. This friction stops your car. When the brake pad material wears completely out, then when you apply your brakes, you are left with the metal backing coming into contact with the metal rotor. The crunching sound you hear is the 2 different metal objects rubbing against each other.

The repair is to replace the brake pads & rotors. - BR Tiger fan

3)   I don't know but it sounds to me like your brake pads are down to the metal. - Jackolantern
