1995 plymouth neon...will it make the trip?

Question 1
1995 plymouth neon...will it make the trip?...  i have a 1995 plymouth neon is GREAT condition...there is nothing mechanically wrong with it. And i have family in TN so there having a family reunion but i dont have the money to rent a car...do you think it could make a 8 year drive?
haha im sorry 8 hour drive oopps

Answers
1)   8 year drive O.o..... i dont think so :O - oX.CoOkiE mOnStEr.Xo *Back Up*

2)   I do not know where you are located, but if it takes 8 years to drive to TN, you should consider flying.

I know you meant 8 hours and am just teasing you. If the car is in good condition, I see no reason that it should not be able to make the trip safely. Have the fluid levels checked, along with the belts, hoses and tires, and if the car checks out, enjoy the trip.

I have driven older cars on longer trips many times - fire4511

3)   I have a 1995 Neon with 185000 miles on it and is still going strong. If you trust the car I don't see any reason it wouldn't make the trip. With any car mechanical break downs do occur so it is really your call. I would have the oil changed and all fluid levels and tire pressures checked before you hit the road.Have a safe trip.( has the timing belt ever been changed?) - Gregory A

4)   If it's in great condition, then it should make the trip without any problems. Of course, having it checked out by a shop to make sure everything is in good order is a good idea before any long trip.

That being said, there's never a guarantee that any car will make the trip without something breaking during the trip. - Mark B

5)   Simply put, YES - rick b

6)   You know more about the car than anyone else. If you feel good about car making the trip, go for it. Check everything over and check the tire pressures. Remember, you could rent a car and have it blow up half way on the trip as well. - Jackolantern

7)   Yes - C-Tech

Question 3
cost for brakes and rotors cost for a 2004 chrysler town and country?...

Answers
1)   i had a 4 wheel brake job done on my 99 s 10 chevy...new brake pads and rotors,,,550 dollars - pedro7of9

2)   Cost for front and rear and install at a national chain brake shop, around $500.

Parts and install yourself, around $100 + an hour of your time.

If you're not comfortable working on it yourself then find a shop that will at least let you bring your own parts. Rockauto.com is a good source for cheap, brand name parts with simple drop down menus for parts that will fit your car. You'll find parts that the brake shops want to charge $80 for are only $15. Just bringing your own parts will get it down from $500 to around $250 or less. - Steve

3)   Are you going to do the work yourself? If so, parts should run 45.00 bucks for the entire set of pads front and back, about 25 bucks for shoes if you have rear drum brakes. You should spend about 90 bucks on two front rotors and about 80 bucks on rear rotors. about 250 bucks in parts probably 1.75 hours labor to install. Tops. - Slardi

Question 4
2006 PT Cruiser Engine Light Codes?...  Just bought a used 2006 PT Cruiser and of course two days later the engine light came on. Got the codes to come up: P0139 and P0513. Any suggestions on what these are and how to fix them?

Answers
1)   PO139 is for slow response time on the Bank 1 switch 2 02 sensor.
PO513 is for an invalid skin key. I can only guess that this is for the key programming to the immobilizer for anti-theft. - thebax2006

2)   P0139 is for the downstream oxygen sensor. Ensure you don't have an exhaust leak and then change the O2 sensor. P0513 is for an invalid skim key., at some point in time someone has put the wrong key or an unprogrammed key in in the ignition. after changing the O2 sensor disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to clear the codes. - Gregory A

3)   Gregory A nailed this one. Nothing I can add. - Dave
