Do all 2002 Chrysler Voyagers have the same fuel capacities?

Question 1
Do all 2002 Chrysler Voyagers have the same fuel capacities?...

Answers
1)   Yes they would bein' they are the same year and car haha butttttt also no because it's all on how you take care of your vehicle. If a friend has the same one as you but he gives it regular tune ups and takes better care of it then you then his would get better fuel than you. Unless your not talking about that. They should all have the same fuel tanks - ooooapryloooo

2)   All the 6 cyl, long wheelbase versions have a 20 gal. tank. The 4 cyl. short wheelbase versions(mostly used in fleets) have a 15 gal tank. - C-Tech

3)   Chrysler minivans such as the Voyager, Caravan, and Town and country come in two sizes. Standard and grand. The grand is longer and has a larger tank. The short (standard) can carry 6 foot long cargo and the grand can haul 8 foot. I have owned both. The grand size holds app. 20 gallons while the short ones hold app. 15. - Jackolantern

4)   No, There is an optional larger tank. Check with your local dealer, they can tell you what was ordered when it was new. Take them the serial number. - DONNY G

5)   2002 had only one tank available from the factory.

Some years had different sized tanks, but at least since 1996, each year all models used the same size gas tanks up until about 2005, this is when they offered the optional fold flat seats, so they had a different tank for that option. - Mark B

Question 2
Why is Chrysler sitting at the free money trough with Ford and GM?...  Ford and GM are publicly traded companies and their stock is subject to impact average Americans and their retirement plans. I don't agree with a bail out, but I see why they are at the table begging. I can't believe no Senator or Representative in either of these trips to Washington asked Chrysler why they were there also. They are a private firm held by a private company that has plenty of money. If they need money shouldn't they just ask the parent company for it? Are we really going to give a few billion dollars to a hand full of guys that already have a few billion dollars in the bank?

Answers
1)   Ok first of all FORD has taken no money at all! GM and Chrysler are the one's that got the bailout. Ok the reason they need the money....GM alone have well over 250,000 retired employee's, they get full health benfites and average 4k a month. Do the math for 250,000 people and it add up to ALOT of money. SO do you want GM to say the hell with the retired employee's and not pay them anymore? They are in alot of debt. They dont have billions like you think they do - BlueDog

2)   Ford did not take any bailout or taxpayer money. - Kenny

3)   Interesting that you have this chat well after the hearings etc. Ford did not take any government loans. GM and Chrysler were bailed out because the size and scope of their total collaspe would have thrown the country and world into a deeper financial bind. Considering the auto suppliers which would have been dragged down by their failures, all auto production would have ceased for awhile in the U.S. - C-Tech

4)   I'm sorry. Did you have a question? - Dave

Question 3
Where is the impact gas shut off if any for a 1990 Plymouth Sundance?...  i have a 1990 Plymouth Sundance and i recently got into an accident. The car sounds like it is trying to start up but no gas is getting to it. Does anyone know where the impact gas shut off is for it?

1)   Try looking in the boot for a red button. They are often sited near the gas tank. - nosdda

2)   Are you sure you have one ?? That year was right around when they were mandated by the gov. - rick29148

3)   There is no Fuel Pump Reset. The Fuel Pump has a Fuse, Relay & the circuit is controlled by the computer.
If the Fuel Pump is not working, then you need to check Fuse & Relay.
If they function, then Test Fuel Pump

4)   It doesn't have one. If it"s trying to start that means it is getting some fuel. Check the pump pressure. If should about 30 lbs. If it is lower than that replace the pump. - Jackolantern

Question 4
2000 Chrysler Voyager would you recommend it?...  So i am car shopping, dont particularly want a van, but i can get this 2000 Chrysler voyager , with 130,000 miles, what would you say.. i went to Autobeef.com and then i went to edmunds.com and both or equal, some say yes some say no, thought i get your 2 cents here

Answers
1)   Its a roll of the dice. Many voyager had serious engine and transmission problems. If its cheap and rides and drives good then take a gamble. They have a poor resale value so don't spend to much for it. $1500 is about all its worth if its a good one. - austin j

2)   American Car. Its going to fail. I suggest you look at German cars VW or Mercedes they might be priced more but they are safer and will last longer and drive better. - Golf4ever

3)   im the owner of a 2000 voyager, and im really happy with it,im trying to repair a couple little problems but its a very good van!! - milwatts

4)   130,000 that's a lot of miles I hope its cheap if it was owned by a soccer mom you should steer clear of this. Go with a lower mileage car or get an extended warranty. You need to consider worse case scenario. Can you afford to replace an engine or transmission if a major component fails?
Unless you personally know the previous owner and their driving habits I would avoid a car or van with this many miles. - Willy P

Question 5
1998 town and country wont start?...  van was low on gas i was parked on a hill tried starting it, it fired then died. did this 3 times now wont even turn over. battery is good with jumpers. what could be the problem?
i guess its something in the dash were all the gauges go dead and if you pound on the dash it will work...googled it.thanx for your help
thanx for the help everyone....i hit the dash and it started right up

Answers
1)   Did you try getting it on level ground? If your low on gas and parked on a hill ur little bit of gas isn't going to make it in there. - ooooapryloooo

2)   first try filling the car with gas and try to jumpstart it and if that works go to level ground turn off the car and wait a while before you try to start it. Then if it doesnt start the alternator may be mad its not keeping ur battery charged. Or it can be your starter not working because thats what starts your car. - moises

3)   Sometimes when you try starting a vehicle you end up over drawing the battery cells or what I call stirring up the cells , also if the battery is an older battery it may have several dead cells and bec the vehicle is on aslant the bad cells are really stopping the battery's full cell functions therefore the battery might act like it's dead.

Next problem is if you ran out of gas then you're on a hill the fuel pump has to work harder , plus you've probably not added very much gas and that can cause starting issues.

I'd try letting the vehicle sit a bit if possible and also adding more fuel, plus I'd let the starter cool off bec if you've tried to start it several times you've not just drained the battery you've also over worked the starter.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way the fuel at the bottom of the tank has a lot of moister or dirt etc in it so you need to change the fuel filter on it asap, also check the starter relay I believe it's in the fuse box under the hood on that vehicle.

Note that there is more then likely a few relays in that vehicle that have the exact same part number so try one of the non vital relays in the starter relays place, but again I'd wait and be sure there's lot's of fuel and a solid good battery connection , no rust or corrosion etc and if possible have the vehicle on level ground. - helpful bob
