Question about a 2001 PT Cruiser?

Question 1
Question about a 2001 PT Cruiser?...  Today while driving my battery light came on. About 30 minutes later, the radio died, and the digital clock shut down. While I was nearing the end of my trip, my speedometer turned off, turned back on about 5 minutes later, then turned back off. Obviously, this is an electricity problem. My first impulse was to assume that I needed a new battery, but when I talked about it with my dad he thought it may be an alternator issue. I can't remember the last time I got a battery for the car, but I don't think it was too long ago.

Does anybody have any idea what might be wrong with my car's electricity?

Answers
1)   replace the batt today/do not wait - ken k

2)   Even with a dead battery, once it is running the alternator would supply enough electricity and you would not have these issues. It does sound more like the alternator is bad. - doane_nut

3)   Hello. I suspect by the description you have a bad alternator and without it, the car has been running on battery power only. You will probably need an alternator and to recharge the battery at least. Good luck. - C-Tech

Question 3
Need advise on 79 Chrysler LeBaron?...  I have opportunity to buy one but not sure what its worth or if
they were ever good vehicles.
Has a 318 v8 and 100,000 miles.
How much would u pay if in good condition?

Answers
1)   If its the one that used to be owned by Jon Voight, i would pay several thousand. If not, then maybe 1000-1200, i mean its a 79. - Megaman

2)   the Chrysler 318 V-8 is easily one of the most reliable motors ever (and best all around), so thats always a good thing. In good condition id be willing to pay a few thousand. - DodgeDude

3)   Look it up in the Blue Book, Joe. And no, they weren't that good a car. Chrysler was struggling to stay afloat during that time and their cars lacked quality because of it. I had a 79 Diplomat that was a nice, good riding, driving car. But something was always going wrong with it. - Jackolantern

Question 5
My car is a Chrysler Sebring, 2001. My tire size is I believe 210/65/R15.?...  My friend has new tires size 195/65/R15. Can I still use these on my car? I dont know what the 195 is but do you think they will still work?

Answers
1)   205 maybe and they wil work but most people go up in size not lower - kelly_f_1999

2)   they'll work in a pinch, however they're two sizes too small plus they'll look like putting a bicycle tire on a motorcycle, suit yourself. - ramcharger

3)   You're going down two sizes, which is going to result in less tread contact with the roadway and less contact means poorer handling and braking.

I don't recommend it. Visit http://www.tirerack.com/ for more info on sizes available for your Sebring. - Don't know everything !
