2003 Chrysler Town & Country?

Question 1
2003 Chrysler Town & Country?...  My 2003 town & country is having brake issues. It has been in the shop 3 times. The calipers (sp?) have been changed, the master cylinder has been replaced & they have been bled. The brake pressure lasts about 3 months then they go to the floor again. The shop that has been doing the work stated I may have to take it to the dealership. Anybody have any ideas of what could be going on?

Answers
1)   Brake Booster could be leaking air causing the pedal to go to the floor. - Ravenfire

2)   could be a proportional valve, if it has drums in the rear the drums could be over sized causing the shoes to expand more and not full come back, causing a low pedal. - Michael

3)   One- Booster would be the first week not three months

two you have rear disk brakes(what a maroon!)

It is leaking brake fluid and they are stupid and ripping you off. I find it very near a lawsuit(just as soon as you have an accident) so they better fix your car ASAP.

Tell them that small claims court is where you are going to take them if this isn't resolved for FREE RIGHT NOW!

4)   There is only 2 things that will cause your peddle to go to the floor. 1,is if the master cylinder rubbers allow the fluid to go past and back into the reservoir, and 2 ,you have a brake fluid leak. A bad brake booster will only cause the peddle to get hard to press. I would definitely have a dealer look at the problem. - Jackolantern

Question 2
I have 07 PT Cruiser that starts chugging and sputtering like out of gas-its not and not the gas cap.Any ideas?...  I'm told its the gas cap, but I've had 3 and still problems.

Answers
1)   Does this happen even more when the gas tank is completely full off fuel?I'd want to be checking things like the fuel pressure regulating valve, the fuel filter, the fuel pressure, the ignition system, vac lines and vac hoses and get the vehicle properly scanned bec a diagnostic trouble shooting scan should give some insides or indicate an error code etc.

To me it sounds like you already got some kind of error code and that different ppl are saying its the gas cap but it's actually not and that suggests that something in the gas vapour or fuel evaporation emissions system is causing the problem.Again it's another reason I highly recommend a full diagnostic test be performed it be well worth the 60 to 100 buck or so investment bec then it should pin point the problem better.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way I suggest using a reliable dealership bec if they diagnose the problem and then replace a part and that doesn't end up fixing it they should credit you on the repair and part costs and stand behind their work. - helpful bob

2)   You may need a fuel pump. have the fuel pressure checked and also check for vacuum leaks at the intake. Good luck. - C-Tech

3)   It's not the gas cap. If it were you would have a check engine light on. Check the fuel pump pressure. Also, if it only does it when letting off the gas, then it's the throttle body gumming up around the throttle plate. Clean it with throttle body cleaner. Remember, if it spits back through the intake, it's too lean on fuel. If it coughs through the exhaust, then it's running too rich on fuel. - Jackolantern

Question 3
need to know where the relay is located in a 1998 plymouth voyger?...  i have a bought a 1998 plymouth voyager and the cooling fan was put on a toggle switch(and i always forget to turn it on need to fix it before i blow the car up) the relay went out and we can't find the cooling fan relay. we have taken out the relay for the relay box next to the battery that is labeled fan but that is the fan for the heater. so if some one knows or knows of a site i can get this info i would be greatful. i love my van and do want to mess it up
thank you

Answers
1)   Lay down on your back look up by the fan the relay is located just left of the fan on the chassis.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way a parts store like parts source should be able to print out free diagrams and schematics of the whole cooling system. - helpful bob

2)   Remove the air filter box. Look straight down the frame next to the fan. You should see a small bundle of wires from the fan motors. The relay is a small gray box, mounted to the frame. Good luck. - C-Tech

3)   There was a recall on these back around 2001. If yours has a black relay, it was suppose to have been changed free. If it is blue, it has already been changed but could have gone bad also. It is a solid state relay on the frame work under and in front of the left wheel well. Check with the dealer to see if your van still has an open recall on the relay. - Jackolantern

Question 5
pt chrysler cars good or bad?...  im thinkin of buying one whats your opinion please?

Answers
1)   bad

chrysler cars are only designed to last 5 years or so, and usually have major problems right after the warranty expires - Eduardo S

2)   Ugly as sin, flimsy and expensive to maintain/service. - "isitme"

3)   Have a good friend that's on her second one, & loves it. Treats it like a mini-pick-up & hauls all sorts of stuff in the back. Gets pretty good mileage, considering how she buzzes around. The only problem she's had is the a/c on the second one gave her some problems, but they got it fixed. - rick29148
