Question 3
2001 PT Cruiser! Car engine light goes on then off. Car stops at stop light. Cant make it to school = [ HELP!?...  This all started recently. I was on my way to the gym, i stopped to get gas. Everything was working just fine! It wasn't until i entered my vehicle again, it started to act up. When I tried to start up my car, It stalled for like a minute, THEN it came back on. I did this 4 times, same results. I thought nothing of it, and continued to go to the gym. It was weird, because as I was driving, it felt like my car wanted to accelerate forward! It freaked me out, so I just pulled over and parked for about 20 minutes. After I waited, I started my car. It started up fine again, EXCEPT NOW, my engine check light came on......urgh! Good thing is that I got home safe without problem, besides the light being on. This was 3 days ago, today I got hungry and wanted to drive over to subway. My car didn't stall at start up, but my engine light came on, and STAYED on. It drove 3 blocks, then the engine like went off. I thought "cool, problem fixed = ].. WRONG! I got stuck at a stop light (of course, you're supposed to stop at red....) then all of a sudden, my engine turned off!..... and my oil light and engine lights came on.. I wasn't quite sure tho because I freaked the heck out!! I thought everything was good because my engine light was off, WRONG WRONG WRONG.... When my engine went off, I started it up again. Weird thing about that was that it actually started right back up... Whats the problem!?!? I have a 2001 PT Cruiser!! I've had this car for almost a year and it's given me almost NO problems until now... I have to admit, I haven't gotten a tune-up when i got it, or fixed my motor mounts.... ehhh... would anyone might know what's going on with my car? I can't even drive to school or work anymore = [ I wont be able to fix it until Thursday...

1)   Its your fuel pump or engine comnputer, BUT you will need someone to pull the codes from the car since your check engine light did come on. And with it going out that means the code is now in your history file and it wont fix its self. You need a qualified mechanic to look at it - rick b

2)   in a nutshell, this car needs to go to your local dealer. There are a lot of possibilities at this point, but i'm going to guess that when it is all over you will find that the check engine light is on due to trouble code p0300(multiple cylinder misfire) and that the cause of this will turn out to be contaminated fuel. As a Chrysler technician, if this vehicle came into my dealership and i heard this story, the first thing i would do is download the code and if it had anything to do with misfires or running rich/lean, disconnect the fuel line, drop it in a clear test container, command the fuel pump on, and see just what you have a tank full of. - mark o

3)   Since your car was fine before you refilled the tank, it sounds like you may have a tank full of bad gas. Explain this to the shop of dealer you take this to and ask for a gas sample. If you still have the receipt for gas (or paid by credit card) you can prove that you got the bad fuel at that station and they should reimburse you for repairs (they probably have had multiple cars come in for bad gas if this is the case). I hope you did not fill your car with diesel fuel by accident. Good luck. - C-Tech

Question 4
Plymouth Voyager doesn't have cruise control.....?...  My 2000 Plymouth Voyager doesn't have cruise control, but when I start the engine a cruise control light turns on for approx. 6 sec then turn off. what problem could it be

Answers
1)   Just bec there is a cruise control dash indicator doesn't mean that the factory installed one so check your owners manual or call up the dealership have your ownership or Vin numbers handy and they'll tell you if it came equipped with cruise control or not etc.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way one way to tell if that vehicle has cruise control or not is to look for a set of steel lines coming off the throttle body , these lines look like brake lines on a bike etc and they'd run to the cruise control servo unit. - helpful bob

2)   Not a problem its just a self dignostic test. It does it with or without installed cruise - rick b

3)   Ric is right, its just a circuit board check. - C-Tech

Question 5
2003 Chrysler Town & Country?...  My 2003 town & country is having brake issues. It has been in the shop 3 times. The calipers (sp?) have been changed, the master cylinder has been replaced & they have been bled. The brake pressure lasts about 3 months then they go to the floor again. The shop that has been doing the work stated I may have to take it to the dealership. Anybody have any ideas of what could be going on?

Answers
1)   Brake Booster could be leaking air causing the pedal to go to the floor. - Ravenfire

2)   could be a proportional valve, if it has drums in the rear the drums could be over sized causing the shoes to expand more and not full come back, causing a low pedal. - Michael

3)   One- Booster would be the first week not three months

two you have rear disk brakes(what a maroon!)

It is leaking brake fluid and they are stupid and ripping you off. I find it very near a lawsuit(just as soon as you have an accident) so they better fix your car ASAP.

Tell them that small claims court is where you are going to take them if this isn't resolved for FREE RIGHT NOW!
