is it bad to use regular 87 gas in my pt cruiser gt turbo?

Question 1
is it bad to use regular 87 gas in my pt cruiser gt turbo?...  or should I use 89
i dont have an owners manual
well I just bought it and I dont wont to start putting in the wrong gas...it says in the gas tank premium recommended but I wanna know is it necessary

Answers
1)   look in your owner's manual, it will have a recommendation for you for that - bmwrider001

2)   If you put 87 in it and your engine doesn't knock or ping then it's perfectly fine. Chances are you will have no problems running 87. - El Duderino

3)   its use what gets you the best mileage with not the price not the octane but what gets you best mileage way one checks is say going away from house place you like to stop most fill with best or highest octane set mileage write it down drive til one needs to refill at same place use next lower octane and one that gets you the best mileage right one to use at that place then go to another place do same thing then you do same thing with two places coming home then you know two types two places where to buy what you car needs its like this say
my nissan gets great mileage with shell high octane but gets same mileage with mobil regular
its what you get the best mileage with and whats recommended is just that a recommended octane doesn't mean that's what you use or not since each driver and fuels are different one needs to test and decide which one gets the best mileage.
i know my car runs best with shell high octane
my truck runs better with mobil regular than shell high octane
my bike gets great mileage with chevron

up to driver to know which fuel gets the best mileage with common higher the octane better the mileage doesnt mean its works

bad no really but should know what gets you the best mileage with that wil save your money not what it cost is its what mileage you get by using it
cheaper is not always better or highest price not always better that everyone needs to know is what gets you the best mileage not what brand or octane or price that 2 cents you save on cheap fuel mighty cost you 5 miles or more to use it thus costing you more to go less miles and higher octane that doesnt get you better mileage just a waste of money its what brand or octane that gets the best mileage with you test a few brands and a few octanes you wil know whats your car needs not what you want to use or pay for - kelly_f_1999

4)   I would say it depends on how hard you are going to drive it. It's usually best to use what's recommended. As far as the owners manual, go to a Dodge or Chrysler dealer and order one. - badbill1941

5)   Once in awhile is no big deal but I wouldn't do it all the time.

FI (turbo and supercharged) engines almost always require premium gas because the compression will cause detonation (knocking) which is bad for the engine.

A few say recommended and they just pull the timing to compensate. This will cut your power and its not really a great thing for your car long term since its not designed to do this forever just once in awhile. Also I assume you bought the turbo model because you wanted the power. - emiller1998

6)   The computer will compensate for the lower octane fuel.
You may lose a little power and mileage but it wont hurt anything.
Might actually be less expensive mpg wise to go ahead a run the 89 or 91 though.
best of luck! - Dave

7)   i woudlnt recommend that, simply put, a pt cruiser gt has the SRT 4 motor which i believe REQUIRES premium gas

i own a plain nissan altima 2.5 s and its not required but nissan recommends premium gas, so thats what i buy, sure its 20 cents more, but it helps my car realize its potential

premium fuel is worth it - David A

Question 3
How much is the used chrysler 300c?...  Hi, im 17 years old and gonna buy chrysler 300c used one.
on www.cars.com, I found it 40000miles and 2005 year and $13000.
I think it is too cheap. because it is a big car.
anyway, how is it that I buy that car?

Answers
1)   10-13k seams about right. It may be a larger car but its a chrysler and does not hold its value well. - squishy

2)   If the car is moderately well equiped and in good condition with no body damage that's a pretty good price.
I always recomend taking any used car to a reputable mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection before commiting to anything.
You will really like the 300 They are very nice cars. - Dave

3)   oh how i ENVY YOU!

$13000 seems reasonable for a 2005 chrysler 300 actually

the miles are suspiciously low though, most 05 chrysler 300s have about 100k on them, people really beat the hell outta those cars.

if you are lucky enough to get a SRT 8, consider yourself the luckiest 17 yr old on earth, sure it gets 13 mpg but the speed and power make it all worth it, plus girls love a pimp daddy who drives a 300, lol especially if its a SRT 8 - David A

4)   Go to Kelley Blue Book to see how much a vehicle is in your area. Best of luck. - kb9pvj

5)   Go to Kelly's Blue Book and fill out all the information on the car in questioner and it will give you the value in 'owners selling and dealer selling. Don't go much higher than the book allows. And if you show the print out of the car to the individual it may also help if he is way higher than the blue book. - Jackolantern

Question 4
where are the spark plugs located in a chrysler 300?...

Answers
1)   In the cylinder head - Chopdog

2)   Under the engine shroud. ;-) - Stephen M

3)   What year? - done wrenching

4)   Hi, you car likely has the HO 3.5.. The spark plugs are fired by individual coils that sit on top of the plugs.. Open you hood.. You will see 6 squares.. There are 3 on either side, just inside the black plastic that covers the top of you engine.. Each square is held on by 2 torx bolts, these are little star shaped bolts.. To chance the plugs, you have to unplug each coil wiring clip, do them on at a time for ease if correct order replacement.. After taking the 2 star shaped bolt out, lift up on coil pack and set assembly aside.. You can themn remove the spark, plu. You will need an extension to get your socket to reach the plug which is about 5-6 inches down in the hole, a true pain, but normally you only have to do it one time as long as ya own the car.. - lil_pengwen

And just today my wife claims the dashboard brake light and ABS light flashed and then most of the other dashboard lights came on. Plus the needles on the dials were moving back and forth sporadically. Not really sure what I should check first.
