Electrical problems with 2001 Town and Country.?

Question 1
Electrical problems with 2001 Town and Country.?...  When we drive for a while, about half and hour or so, the battery dashboard light comes on. And just today my wife claims the dashboard brake light and ABS light flashed and then most of the other dashboard lights came on. Plus the needles on the dials were moving back and forth sporadically. Not really sure what I should check first.

1)   Sounds like the dash is going bad it has a mother board and over time they go bad from heat and time. You make end up having to put a new dash in as it will go out in time and who knows when that will be. - Scott W

2)   Get it checked. Its most likely the dash.. - ☆LOLツ☆

3)   2001... dude get a new car!!!! im jk

4)   A failing alternator can cause those symptoms.
Have a shop or parts store do a starting/charging system analysis.
Most big chain parts stores will do this for free but make sure you ask for the manager. Some of the counter help at those stores are less than knowledgable.
Best of Luck. - Dave

5)   it might be alternator problem have it tested if not you have a bad computer problem - Roger

Question 2
What is the average life span of a 2001 Plymouth Neon?...  My neon is approaching 180,000 miles already.

Answers
1)   Holy Crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've got 180K on a neon???????

You've done well !

No offense intended, but we consider those the bic lighter of automobiles. They usually have some kind of major mechanical failure between 80K and 120K which makes repair costs more than the vehicle is actually worth so poeple just junk em.

Be kind to your car sir! It has served you well and does not owe you a thing. Congradulations. - Dave

2)   About 3 years in the past I would have guessed. - doane_nut

3)   You don't say what engine you have in yours. I have recently from from a junk yard in my are looking for a replacement radio for my 1999 Neon with 171K miles on it. While I was there I saw several Neons with very high mileages on them, between 135K and 155K. So my take away is that they are pretty long-lived and that you and I are taking pretty good care of our cars. I think the key is replacing the timing belt in 60K intervals like they recommend and changing the oil every 3K miles. - howard

4)   don`t beat it to much they are not very durable the engine is weak treat it good with t.l.c. and oil change maybe you`l be good for another 100,000 klm - Roger

Question 3
where are the spark plugs located in a chrysler 300?...

Answers
1)   In the cylinder head - Chopdog

2)   Under the engine shroud. ;-) - Stephen M

3)   What year? - done wrenching

4)   Hi, you car likely has the HO 3.5.. The spark plugs are fired by individual coils that sit on top of the plugs.. Open you hood.. You will see 6 squares.. There are 3 on either side, just inside the black plastic that covers the top of you engine.. Each square is held on by 2 torx bolts, these are little star shaped bolts.. To chance the plugs, you have to unplug each coil wiring clip, do them on at a time for ease if correct order replacement.. After taking the 2 star shaped bolt out, lift up on coil pack and set assembly aside.. You can themn remove the spark, plu. You will need an extension to get your socket to reach the plug which is about 5-6 inches down in the hole, a true pain, but normally you only have to do it one time as long as ya own the car.. - lil_pengwen

Question 4
I have a 1996 Chry. cirrus lx and it wont start. It will turn over but wont run. HELP?...

Answers
1)   Alot of possibilities. You'd need to do some testing and narrow things down a bit for anyone to be any real help. Here are some of the most likely causes.
Crankshaft sensor
Camshaft sensor
Ignition module.
Ignition coil pack.
Fuel pump
Powertrain control module.

All of these and more can cause a no start on that model.

If you have the tools and ability to do some basic ignition system and fuel supply and delivery system tests then re-post with the results (and engine size, probably the 2.7L). If not you need a mechanic's help.
Best of Luck! - Dave

2)   Step 1. Listen to Dave above. Unfortunately, the Cirrus and it's cousins are notorious for their electrical system gremlins. - Bryan

3)   First thing to check is if there is spark. The coil packs on these were notorious for failing. IF there is spark then you have a fuel delivery problem, so in that case check the fuel pump to see if it is running. - howard

4)   is it a 4 cylinders if its is those are no good don`t put to much money on it chrysler as a bad problem in the wiring that gos from the fuse box from the engine compartment for the fuel pump there is corrosion - Roger
