well from what i have seen and know i don't think they are much different from each other i don't know weather thats right or not but i hope has helped you
Ben

the only difference i can think of is that the touring has alloy rims, base model doesn't

The Touring model is just more upscale with more standard equipment and more options available for it.

The basic edition has cloth seats and no head rests for the back seat. The basic edition also comes with 15" steel wheels with hubcaps.

This is no joke- the "Touring" Edition does not have cruise control.
It is a cheap version of PT Cruiser' used by rental companies.
Relative rented one for a trip. Hated it. Drove 1000+ miles and no cruise control..

NEVER replace any part 'till you KNOW the problem. With the small amount of info provided I would suggest you go to a RADIATOR SHOP, not an auto repair, and have it diagnosed. Usually done free.

Probably the radiator, but it could be other things like a cracked head or block. Pull the oil dipstick out and look at the oil on it. If it looks like a milkshake that would mean coolant is leaking into the crankcase like in cracked head.

Take it to the dealer have them check it out.. Or better yet trade it in and get an import, will save you money in the long run

You can do a few basic tests yourself buy a proper anti-freeze tester from walmart etc , with a cool engine test the coolant and be sure its of good quality and is the right level , don't add any regular water if adding water use distilled water.

Check the rad , rad hoses , heater core hoses for any possible leaks and also look under the vehicle too , make sure when the thermostat hose is squeezed with a cool engine idling after a few mins pressure should build up that would tell you that the thermostat is okay. With the engine still idling watch and listen for the fan to engage it should after a few mins and the engine gets hotter , if not check the fan , fan relay , fan fuse and fan wiring plus the temperature sensor.

Once you know the quality of the coolant and level is okay , plus the thermostat is okay and no coolant leaks exist , with the engine cool open the over flow or rad cap start up the engine let it run until it forces the coolant to over flow , this will force any air locks or air bubbles out of the system.Make sure you allow the engine to cool down fully before adding more coolant to it and wait awhile then top it off again.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way be sure you check the water pump pulley see if it wobbles or if its leaking at its base of the pulley on the pump bec a really bad water pump can cause such over heating issues too , plus check the oil and coolant and transmission fluids for any possible contaminents and say for example the transmission fluid is contaminated it could mean that your rad is internally faulty or if the oil is corrupt it could mean a gasket is blown.

Since you can afford to replace random parts, start with the radiator, then the fan then the BCM then the fan relay

2005 Chrysler Pacifica 33kmiles for $9,500 is it worth it or are they crap?

I know they're discontinued, but i LOVE them. I had one as a rental car and fell in love with it. However, I have read some reviews and they're either hit or miss... Input pleaseeeee

Found out values by going to:

The biggest concern I would have buying one is the automatic transmissions. I've never had a problem with any of my Chrysler automatics, but many do.

Personally, I would go for it if you aren't too worried about potentially spending here or there on transmission upkeep. They are very nice vehicles.

It known to many mechanics as the Chrysler Pieceofcrapica...there are more misses out there than hits

Faulty sensor? Definitely needs an engine diagnostic done. Some shops do it for free.
eighteenspeedpete@att.net

If you mean under full throttle, the rev limiter kicks in, this prevents the engine from over revving.

I'd get my fuel filter checked first. I had a Chrysler. Overall, I'd say sell it and get a Honda or something. Trust me, if this is happening now, you will have many more problems! My LeBarron did the same thing. Fuel filters are inexpensive and that may help. There is an underlying problem though. I think it probably has to do with oxygen sensors and your vacuum lines.

What would cause a PT cruiser to leak radiator fluid?

Leaking on passenger side bottom. Radiator replaced about 3 months ago. 02 model with about 90,000 miles on it.

either a leak in the radiator, a leaking hose, or a loose connection between the two
vague

First check the hose clamps as they should be checked about a week after a new rad is installed. At times a new rad will be installed and they will not put new hoses on it.Hoses are cheap and when you use hose clamps on new hoses heat up the clamp then install it as it will contract really tight when it cools down.
I also sometimes use the dry zink flakes[rad stop leak].The liquid sealers basically suck.Yet on a new rad these flakes should not be needed at all.
extitude

bad thermostat or bad seal around the thermostat housing, bad hose or radiator loose connection somewhere, ur water pump is bad or worse case cracked block or tranny... if thats the case, junk the car. but hopefully that wouldnt be the case. can u tell where the leak is coming from? or it maybe overheating, if it overheats than water could leak but it would be more like a spray if the motors really hot... good luck
