they get respectable fuel economy, performance is average its not a sports car, rather a good first car or family car. the 2nd row is surprsingly roomy. its no benz or bm
Global Express

well the newer models usually seem to have better fuel consumption and performance as well as price but the pt cruiser is one ugly car

It's ok for a Chrysler

But you would better looking at other car manufacturers. The PT doesn't perform very well, it has a cheap Chrysler interior and gets pretty bad fuel economy for such a small car.

might help two ways first type into searchbox

how to check used car

follow check list and look for problem signs

My wife has a 2001. Still drives it to work [30 miles] back and forth 3 days a week. Good gas mileage. The pickup leaves a bit to be desired, [4 cyl] ,especially if the A/C is on. It has leather interior [depends on the model]. A lot of extras for the price. The interior is pretty roomy. Overall, it's been a good car. There are even PT cruiser clubs in the area and people customize them with different paint jobs, chrome, grills, etc.

What could have caused this in my Chrysler Sebring Sedan (2004)?

Ok so we got new brake pads, and rotors a few weeks ago, and everything has been great. All of a sudden yesterday I hear a large pop, and my caliper assembly comes off the rotor and smashes into my rim (which arent cheap!). Anyways, my dad who is a mechanic, was able to get the car home in reverse (it worked in reverse just fine), and jack it up. We came to find that the top bolt on the caliper that holds it to the assembly came right off. We actually found the bolt in the street. What would have caused this? We were able to repair everything, but just curious what are possible reasons for this to happen.

Hard to say. It may have loosened itself up over time. However, you said the brakes were just worked on. Maybe the shop forgot to torque it properly. Or the manufacturer forgot to. I've bought several new cars over the last 5 yrs & I have always double checked the car after I bring it home. You'd be surprised at what I find. Missing air filter on one & loose lug nuts on a Mazda. G'day!

I would say whoever did the brake work for you did not get the caliper bolts tight. If a repair shop did this work, I would carry the car back and show them what happened to the wheel and have them recheck the other side for you as well.

My guess is the mechanic who did the job put the bolt in but didn't tighten it. The pop you heard was the brake caliper rotating out into the rim when the bolt fell out. Did you check the other bolts in the other side.

most likely the bolt was not tightened, not much else could've caused it.

Because it's a Chrysler Sebring. Here is a quote from www.carcomplaints.com:

The Chrysler Sebring has the most problems by a long shot, with well over three times more complaints than any other Chrysler model. The most defect-prone years are from the early 2000s.

Visit the web site concerning the Sebring. Also, Sebring's with the 2.7L engine have even more problems. That engine has been found to be a "defective" engine.

You can't. Go to Halfords and buy one. It will pay for itself.

Chrysler publications. Call your local dealer to get their 1-800 number. They are not cheap though

[Best Answer]Go to:
Consumer reports
Kelly Blue Book
Edmonds
Those sites plus others give car reviews good,bad/trouble spots etc.
That vehicle does not get great ratings for being reliable.
Try a Pontiac Slostus(?)that's a 2 seat car also but right now i have no further info on it for you, sorry.

Cross fire is a very nice car but not many made, it is geared for the pre senior upper middle class looking for a classy sports car at a middle of the road price. The biggest complaint I have heard about that car is no spare

i work at the chrysler dealership and they could not sell, they had to discount them $10,000 after sitting on the lot for 18 months just to sell them.not a bad car just small no room.

Did you put your foot on the brake first??

Try giggling the ignition and the steering wheel plus the shifter as uve the brakes on , I'am assuming its a automatic ?Could also be due to low transmission fluids or to the adjustment or cable that controls the transmission shifter is loose or it's broken etc.Even dirty filters in the transmission could cause shifting issues bec they use a solenoid and pressure switch type of transmission system control.

I've also seen swifters that were stubborn due to bad pins etc or bec their off adjustments or out of alignment bec many things can cause stuck shifters its not easy to say what it is just go over the things I've mentioned and dont forget to check for any transmission seal leaks or transmission lines that run to the rad or the transmission cooling system and check the rad all over visually and check the coolant too with a anti-freeze tester.Make sure the water pump isn't leaking or any hoses etc and be sure that the fan engages when it should too bec all afects the tranmission bec their very sensitive to abnormal operating temperatures etc too.

Sometimes due to low fluids or dirt or fluid levels or fluids that have worn down or the chemical factory transmission fluid chemicals are worn down etc the system might not shift unless at certain temperatures.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way I'd be sure to check the quality and colour and even smell the fluid in the transmission from the dipstick off your fingers bec brown fluid or discolured or contaminated fluids can end up causing such issues and if it smells like burnt cigars looks brownish etc it doesn't mean the transmission is shot , but if the fluid and filter is changed on it and more then the natural small metal specs are found then consider the gears are damaged inside of it.

Note just bec the fluid is brownish again could just mean you've over heated that engine or someone has causing the transmission fluid to literaly fry too thats why when any real over heating occurs it best to check the anti-freeze then also change it if need by as well as the oil+ filter and the transmission filter and fluid too.

You did try the manual release? If you haven't you should be able to access it by pulling the crap cup out and locating the hole that is the access for the manual overide. Just push to the front of the vehicle and then move the shifter. That should do it. I think that you could have a problem with the shifter assembly itself. NOT THE TRANSMISSION OR LINKAGE! You could also have an electrical problem with the BTSI system.
Mike J

Put your foot on the brake. Do the brake lights come on? If not, fix that problem and the shifting problem will be gone too. Safety interlock.
