96 Crystler cirrus clicking when trying to start?

96 Crystler cirrus clicking when trying to start?

Worked fine to my knowledge the other day... went to go to work and now car won't start... turn the key and a loud clicking over and over happens in the engine... the car gets power since all sensors come on and acts like its gonna start but doesnt... never made this loud clicking either. Any help would be appreciated... already replaced the started fuse.
It is not the starter solenoid, jumped the car and started right up but turned off and wont restart...

The battery could be dead, sounds like the starter doesn't have enough juice to turn over.

Poor battery cable connections, weak battery, or defective starter.

It's either your starter solenoid, or your battery.

Easiest is to remove the battery and take it to a parts store and have them test it. A bad battery will allow the lights to show, but there is not enough power to turn over the car.

You might also check the battery connections under the hood to make sure they are clean and tight.

It's the starter itself. 13 years old...needs to be replaced.
Mac S

1 of 2 things. Flat battery, or bad starter solenoid. You can try and jump the car or get a cheap automotive battery tester from a local shop. If the battery is good and you get the clicks, you will have to replace the starter. The click you hear is the solenoid engaging the little gear that spins the flywheel.

battery could be dead
starter motor could be faulty.
starter solenoid could be faulty...
open or faulty battery cable somewhere

get the car to a mechanic..

The clicking you hear is the ignition switch sending power to the starter solenoid, which may or may not be engaging all the way...

Chrysler Town & Country Van~~~Garage Door Remote Hidden in the Ceiling?

Hi! My Dad has a Chrysler Town and Country van and I guess the remote control for the garage door has been nestled somewhere in the vehicle....so that when you push the "button" inside the van the garage door goes up. Well, now it's time to sell the van and my Dad doesn't know exactly where that remote was nestled inside his vehicle. Does anyone have any clues for me to help him locate it and remove it???? I thank you for your help!!!
Hi! My Dad has a 2000 Chrysler Chrysler Town and Country van and, according to him....the actual remote control for the GARAGE DOOR has been nestled somewhere in the vehicle....so that when you push the "button" inside the van...the garage door goes up. Well, now it's time to sell the van and my Dad doesn't know exactly where that remote was buried inside his vehicle. Does anyone have any clues for me to help him locate it and remove it???? Again, the model year is 2000. I thank you for your help!!!
This van is 2000 Chrysler Town & Country van. And again, my Dad says the remote for the GARAGE DOOR is actually buried somewhere in the vehicle. Does this make any sense....or who is somehow "programmed" to open the door without any physical Remote Control being in the car????

The opener is built into the van, to my knowledge there is no way to physically remove it.The owner's manual has instructions on how to "clear" the memory.
Don't know everything !

dodge has this neat little feature.its not something you can remove i think. its optional and not sure exactly how it works, read about it in my bosses owners manual for his crew cab dually, that and it came with 1 yr free xm radio but he didnt turn it on because he didnt know(build sheet for that)

You don't remove the vehicle transmitter but they are usually in the same place the push button is located which can be in the visor or in the ceiling console (I don't know where they are on your vehicle).

If you have a newer opener w/ a smart or learn button you erase the memory on the opener by holding the learn button. You then have to reprogram all the other transmitters you still have by using the same learn button.

If you have an older opener w/ dip switches you change the settings on the motor head & change the transmitter ones to match.
DoorDoc

it's in the headliner compartment. or just buy another controller and reprogram your garage door opener

Just do a massive search for the remote. If it's in there, you'll find it. The other answers are talking about the universal remotes that newer cars come with!!!

On a 98 Plymouth Voyager, should the 2 fans on the radiator turn freely with the vehicle off?

The fan on the passenger side turns freely and the one on the drivers side turns only with a lot of effort.

that is a burnt unit//replace summer is here and you need 2

electric fan spins freely, clutch fan needs some effort to move.
ckostura

The fan should be able to spin freely by hand. A 98 Voyager has an electric fan, not a clutch fan.

What do I do about my chrysler 300 I just bought?

Ok, so my husband and I bought a 2008 Chrysler 300 and then, 3 days after that they announced on the news that 34 chrysler dealers would be closing down, but they didn't say much more. And of course, the one I went to happens to be closing and soon. So I need advise on who to turn to before it's to late?
They threw in a free upgraded wood trim package for the inside, because we don't like the color of trim that's in there. The salesman told us the guy who handles all this got let go a few days after we were there and he ended up feeding us lies for the past 4 weeks acting like he was doing something and actually wasn't doing anything about resolving our issue so I spoke to the General Mgr and he said they were in the process of letting people go immediately because that dealership would be closing. He didn't tell me when exactly, nor do I think he knows. But he said they still need to take care of us and he ordered the part and said it's coming from Canada, so it may take a little while to get here but be patient and they'd get us taken care of. I figure 2 weeks tops! But I don't know if I have 2 weeks!
So what do I do if they close the dealership before my part gets there? Who do I go to? I think I'm screwed because I know when we signed papers at the day of the purchase I signed one that said they owed me 1 upgrade trim package to be installed for free. Something like that but he didn't give me a copy of it and I never asked for it because I made the #1 mistake, I trusted them.
--Should I call their corporate office now and get them involved before it's too late, and all the workers get let go and there's no one there for corporate to talk to?

Well, the corporate office will just tell you the same thing that some Chrysler dealerships will be affected. You can go again in the same location and tell them to ship it to your location or a dealer that is not affected and make that 10 mile or more trip to get your trim.

Call Barack Obama he'll take care of it.

it will be more expensive to fix it. i have 2005 ford excursion they dont make them no more so i always pay more.

they are good cars with good engines and no parts wont be hard to come by there are plenty of after market parts makers to get parts let a lone the junk yards.

Parts will never be hard to obtain. The Hemi V8 is used in 300C limos, Challengers, Chargers, and Ram trucks. There's a big demand for those, so parts will be available.

Pros: It's a great car - was on Car&Driver's 10-best list for good reason. It's an American car. It has cylinder deactivation. You can get a great deal on it.

Con: having a hard time thinking of any downsides.

Chrysler will introduce a new 300C model soon, and it might be better to wait if you like the newer style. They'll probably make the 200C in the near future, now that all carmakers have to make cars that get 35mpg. This might be your last opportunity to buy an affordable car with 345 hp.

Pros are you can really negotiate them down to where you want to have your payments, It's best to go on a weekday during the day time. And be firm! Don't cave in, have a set payment amount and stick with it no matter what. Be seriously prepared to walk if they aren't willing to work with you. I just recently got a 2008 300 limited edition with only 11,000 miles on it and got it for $21000 which was 7000 less than the ticket price. And I got my payments at $360 a month for 5 years. I think I got a really good deal. Super Low miles, at a affordable low price and fully loaded! It's a "Beefy" car! Love them.
Buick is honoring their warranties, and dealing with any chrysler repairs. The people who make the parts for Chrysler's also make the parts for Buick and someone else?
Cons,
I had someone tell me they new 4 different people who all had major electrical problems with chrysler vehicles. The parts I was told are really cheaply made and thrown together. Transmissions go out , power windows don't work after only a year, a/c stops working and needs charged after one year (that's what happened to me) I just got the car a month ago and it doesn't work.
