Put the key in, and turn

Check all the fuses, if need be buy a chiltons auto manual for your style vehicle.

This happened to me once. It was the fuel pump. They go out without any warning so it maybe that. Good luck.
dede

It will probably be you Fuel filter cause if they get too dirty then it might not let gas go through to the spark plugs.Change your fuel filter.
Javi95

You should check to see that you can hear the fuel pump buzzing or engaging once the key is in the run position, then you can also feel the fuel pump relay when ignition is turned in the same position. The relay should vibrate or buzz etc and the pump should be engaging but it could be a faulty fuel pump fuse or fuse pump relay or bad fuel pump.

I'd also want to be sure the gas filter isn't clogged on it and maybe add some gas treatment to the gas like STP or Lucas, plus I'd add more gas just in case.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way if you run it low on gas in the past I'd for sure change the fuel filter and add gas treatment , plus it's possible a air bubble or air lock exists so use the bleeder valve I believe it's on the fuel rail on that vehicle.

i have a 1991 plymouth voyager and the window on the passager side won't go down how can i fix it ?

the window on the driver side works great

Usually ,such a problem happenes when the window regulator goes bad , a used one from a junk yard would cost 40-50 bucks , labor runs around $35 .
sagantoree

The regulator motor has 3 plastic dowels in the case that shatter with age.
Remove door cover
remove the motor 3-4 screws, 10mm
remove the gear cover 3 screw
replace the plastic dowels.
reassemble.
I bought a set from a junk yard new for $5 10 years ago.
Dan W

We had a lot of this happen back then. The motor's brushes failed to make good contact with the armatures inside the motors. If you take a rubber mallet and with the engine running for extra voltage, hold the window button down and smack the bottom of the door just below the door panel and the motor will start working again This works about 90% of the time.
Jackolantern

If it's not the switch or motor, it's the plastic toothed regulator tape.

i have a 2006 2.4 4 cyl crysler sebring. one day at a stop sign it just shut down. it didnt make no noise.?

I heard that the timing belt needs to be replaces. Now m question is, is that something I can do? I know how to work on cars but nothing major. Would it be hard and how much labor time are we talking about? I know how much it will cost me but I was wondering how to set the timing also. Any special tools I need? Just send me more info please. Hope to have it running this weekend. Thanks for all your time...

Yes, a timing belt can do that. But there is a good chance that is not what is wrong with it. Many chrysler products have timing chains or sets and both of those are very durable.
It sounds like you don't work on cars too much. I would suggest that you take the car to a mechanic to have it diagnosed and repaired. The timing belt is fairly major and many times requires allot of time and expertise. A timing belt repair will run between $400 - 600 dollars depending on your region.
I don't think it is your timing belt most times timing belts break upon starting and not while you are just sitting there.

Before you go tearing the engine apart you must verify that it is getting spark at spark plugs,(could be a bad coil) and that it is getting fuel to the injector(could be a bad fuel pump in the gas tank), you can take the valve Cover off and check the timing belt on the end of the camshaft to see if it's broke or not. you could probably change it yourself if your careful to mark and baggie the various bolts and brackets that will have to come off. you will for sure need a cheap haynes manual for timing mark location and belt tensioner information. put a little mark on top of timing belt, bump engine with starter and see if mark has moved, if not than belt is broke, Hope i've helped a little, good luck.
Steve

If the timing belt broke, the sound of the engine while cranking would be very different than normal. Most likely much faster. Probably a sensor failure or ignition issue 80%, or a fuel system issue 20% chance. An autozone scanner should put you on the right track
scotts74birds

If it is a timing belt that broke you don't want to keep cranking the engine you are taking a chance on damaging valves and piston tops. You can remove the valve cover and see if the timing belt is still around the cam shaft.Your problem maybe in the ignition system?.Have someone help who has done this
You can get a repair manual, wrenches, sockets, timing light, torq wrench.if you take your time and read the repair manual you can do this. For your first time probably one full day maybe two depends on how good you understand the repair manual.

sounds like a electronic issue with power supply from and to the battery
Man

It's A bad ballast resistor.mounted on the fire wall.
good2go122

Could also be the ignition module on the distributor, try replacing that
Stark

You missed out leads. Are they sound? You should check their resistance if they're old. Got a multimeter? You're away. Check for 12V at the coil + while you're at it.

1974 'Cuda Project Value?

I just bought a project 1974 Plymouth 'Cuda(performance package barracuda) and want to know what its worth.

To start, I dont have a title. The last titled owner is now in prison for who knows how long and his kids lost the title in a house fire. They sold the car to the guy I bought it from with a bill of sale. I recieved a bill of sale as well. I have checked and the car isnt stolen or anything, and was last registered in 2004, so everything appears to check out. I am working on getting a bonded title.

Condition-Pretty much everything there. except the rear valance. All glass is good and rolls up and down fine, the drivetrain is there and believed to the the original 318 and auto tranny, so probably numbers matching. Supposedly runs when the carb and distributor wires are put back on...There is a little rust in the trunk and in a few spots in the floors, but it wont need full floors, probably just footwell patches needed. Trunk is maybe saveable, maybe not. The interior isnt nice by any means, but it would be pretty decent with new carpet and front seat covers and headliner.

It needs some body work. Not too rusty of a car, but it was hit in the rear. Looks to have only damaged the tail panel and rear crossmember and that little filler panel in between them. I have a near perfect new back bumper with it. Also, the driver quarter will probably need a lower patch and the passenger will either need a skin or lower patch depending on how bad the dents are... Front passenger fender is perfect, and the driver would be if the softball sized dent was taken out of it. The hood may need replacing, as it is a little wrinkled but I think its possibly saveable. If not, I will go buy another one for $300. Its the snorkel hood. The doors are just about perfect, and the rockers, door jambs and all look great too. The firewall also shows not rust or damage, And the frame is all solid. The gas tank and fuel lines look to have been replaced.

Im trying to see my best option here. I am already working on a 68 camaro project and I bought this on a whim, because its my dream car(well close enough....71 is my favorite) Its a little more of a project then I am looking for, but I want to be smart about my choices. I can either sell now, or after I get the bonded title and maybe try to get it running and driving, and complete a little bit of the body work(not floors or rear accident, but I could have everything else on the body taken care of. What do I need to do? I want to use the money to finish restoring my camaro.
OH and it was last inspected in 02, which gives me reason to believe that mechanically and electrically it might be in pretty good shape. I payed $2500 and the guy was getting phone calls the entire time I was there from people trying to offer him more. Im in the dallas area by the way.

[Best Answer]You gave too much for a damaged car with no title. You need to get one if possible. I expect it won't be easy though as it has been resold a couple times illegally. I suggest calling the DMV for your state to see if securing a legal title is possible. A 1974 Barracuda with a 318 isn't the most desirable vehicle. If you can bail out without spending more on it, you should be able to recover what you have invested.

I hear ya on buying stuff on a whim, go to www.nadaguides.com/ and click the classic cars tab up top that should get you started on getting a price. I don't know all of the options on you car so I didn't try getting a price for it. My personal opinion is between $4,000-$6,000. Hope this helps.
mortega64

your best bet is probably to get it titled and work some of the cosmetic stuff; you would be surprised the amount of money you may be able to get a collector to pay you for it.
Christi

I would work on getting the title before any other plans are made.
