Chrysler Bankruptcy - Will jeeps be cheaper?

Chrysler Bankruptcy - Will jeeps be cheaper?

Does anyone know if jeeps will have lowered prices or go on sale due to Chrysler filing bankruptcy?

wow really? u wanna jeep?
Jesse B.

The price on vehicles will only change slightly to get sales to go up, but they won't be taking a loss on them.
Garridon

keep checking on the price
Karen S

I hope so, I've had my eye on one.
Justice

Yeah, they're changing the name to Cheep Grand Jerokee
.
vareeabull

Only the used ones.

Maybe, maybe not. They are just filing for bankruptcy, not going out of business. They may actually raise prices to try to get more money into the company. Jeeps are very popular so they may not go too low on price.

I'm driving my SECOND Jeep.... and it certainly will NOT be my last !

I LOVE my Jeep, and everyone I know who has one loves theirs too. I did like them better when they were owned by AMC because they had BIG engines in them.... but we got to roll with the punches. Chrysler is CRAP, but they haven't done too much damage to the Jeep line yet.....

Stay away from Chrysler all together. I have had a total of 3 now. The transmissions are absolutely terrible and they will nickel and dime you forever. I kept thinking that my next one wouldn't be as bad as the previous, but I finally learned my lesson. They have been having major problems with the transmissions, u-joints, shocks, ball joints (recalled), axle shafts (about to be recalled), etc.

No. They're already giving them away after incentives. What do you want that antique for anyway? I can't believe those things are allowed on public roads.

Who wants to buy a car from the government, once they take over GM and Chrysler?

Asked by: Brad K @ 2009-04-30 07:00:33

no one wants to buy one now so it is a mute point
Doc W

I will not buy a car from GM or Chrysler after the government take over because I do not support socialism.
CJM

never ever ever wanted to buy one of those...would only take it if its free....but id still turn around and sell it quick....
john m

Actually the UAW has a bigger stake in Chrysler then the government.

CJM,isn't social security a form of socialsim? So will you give up your SSI benefits?
toledojeeper

Nobody. They will both wind up making cheap econoboxes that only the government wants & the American taxpayers will be on the hook for the purchases.
mikey

I wouldn't mind buying a car from GM, but I know I will walk before I buy a car from the UAW (Chrysler's new owners).

Ford is America's last hope (albeit a very, very good one)!
ibinubu12

They are not "Taking Over" those two companies. Yes, I will still buy a car from both. I like the Pontiac G8 regardless of GM's current situation.
Will from the 313

Not me. I bought a Lexus.

have 2007 dodge with warranty whats going to happen if chrysler goes bankrupt?

Obama was on TV today saying the Federal Government will stand behind their warranty.
"Under bankruptcy, Chrysler would still sell cars and the government would back its auto warranties."
strech

Your car will vanish.
dk

Going bankrupt does not mean going out of business. Your car will be fine, They should still cover warranty. It just means they have to restructure by cutting expenses, and proving they can make a profit. They can come out of bankruptcy.
Car in

Like all other government program, it will take months to get it in the shop and the tail lights will cost thousand of dollars. It will not be long before we have only government cars and government medicine, government food, etc, etc.
KingAndrew

They are not going out of business, the declared bankruptcy in order to restructure their finances!!!
THE UNCOOL 1

I saw Obama at Sears buying Craftsman tools. I think he's getting ready. His wife used to be a Ferrari mechanic. Most people don't know that.

Still glad a I bought an American product, not some foreign piece of shit.

Wow, I seriously can't understand what you mean. Where you put the "was", did you mean "were" because that is throwing me off, a lot. I'm reading this with a country accent now, haha.

My mom bought a new Chrysler back in August. I heard the engine came from Mitubishi, but I'm not sure about that. So does that make her car foreign then? It still gets great mpg.
Like my Name?

You're english is atrocious but I get you're drift.
Rudy H

I feel just fine. I love my 2008 Sebring.
Will from the 313

Just bought a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 and love it,no other auto company could come close to the price.I traded in my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 and before that had a 1996 Dodge Ram with 400,000 miles on it.
The quality of GM,Ford ,and Chrysler is just as good if not better then foreign vehicles. Some people like me need trucks not little gas savers, besides my HEMI gets 22 mpg on the turnpike with cruise set at 65 mph,not bad for a full size truck.

Is Daimler still associated with Chrylser?

I hear that Chrylser will now join forces with Fiat. Is Daimler out of the picture now that Chrysler has filed for bankruptcy?

Daimler exited a while ago. Their relationship officially ended just a few days ago.
Rudy H

No!
Mark

Yes and they didn't help much anyway.Fiat
makes a nice small car and has for years.
silvercross

Other than providing parts, Daimler has not had a management role at Chrysler since 2005.
