4) The trim tells me it's a 59 Belvedere. - badbill1941
5) It's actually a 1959 Belvedere sedan. The script on the left side of the hood (right side in the picture) is "Plymouth" and the side molding on a Fury was not shaped like what you see on the left front fender of this car. The Fury was a wedge from front to rear. - Don't know everything !

Question 2
Chrysler files for Bankruptcy?... Is this the start of the next Great Depression? We were told this was not an option, apparently it is. Should we have let this happen a few months back?
Answers
1) ok - Sports Champion --Rsdiqbal--
2) No, no. - Howard L
3) Well Prunella. I wouldn't worry to much about Chrysler going under. Back in the late 70's this happened to Chrysler. Lee Iaccoca was hired to fix Chrysler. He borrowed 4.5 billion from Uncle Sam and got the company back on it's feet And paid back the loan ahead of time with interest. - Jackolantern
4) WASHINGTON - After months of living on government loans, Chrysler finally succumbed to bankruptcy Thursday, pinning its future on a top-to-bottom reorganization and plans to build cleaner cars through an alliance with Italian automaker Fiat.
The nation’s third-largest car manufacturer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New York after a group of creditors defied government pressure to wipe out Chrysler’s debt. The company plans to emerge in as little as 30 days as a leaner, more nimble company, probably with Fiat as the majority owner. In return, the federal government agreed to give Chrysler up to $8 billion in additional aid and to back its warranties.
“It’s a partnership that will give Chrysler a chance not only to survive, but to thrive in a global auto industry,” President Barack Obama said from the White House.
If GM files for bankruptcy protection in the U. S., it will also likely do so in Canada, said a Canadian Auto Workers economist.
Jim Stanford said a filing in both countries would likely result in a temporary shutdown of some GM plants, possibly including operations in St. Catharines.
A General Motors Corp. bankruptcy filing seemed inevitable south of the border after a rebellion by its bondholders forced it to withdraw a plan on Wednesday to swap bond debt for company stock.
In the U. S., GM would file for Chapter 11 under the country's Bankruptcy Code. In Canada, GM would seek debt protection as it reorganizes under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA).
"Assuming GM files for protection in the U. S., it's then not known whether they will also file for CCAA in Canada," Stanford said.
He pointed out that Chrysler filed for Chapter 11 recently, but not its equivalent in Canada.
However, "in GM's case, most people think they will also file for CCAA protection," Stanford said. "There's bondholders in Canada who GM wants to give a haircut to and it's unlikely they're going to agree voluntarily to that."
GM has until Monday to complete a U. S. government-ordered restructuring that includes debt reduction, labour cost cuts and plant closures. But a Chapter 11 reorganization is likely after the company said its offer to exchange $27 billion in unsecured debt for 10 per cent of the company's stock had failed. GM has received $19.4 billion in U. S. federal loans.
Stanford said a U. S.-Canadian bankruptcy protection filing would likely have an impact on its plants.
"It would likely involve some ... temporary downtime of GM's facilities here," he said.
"'We don't know for sure and we don't know for how long."

5) No, this is not the start of the next Great Depression, but we are in a dire situation. Chrysler filed for bankruptcy and now some reports say that GM is soon to follow. If GM files for bankruptcy protection in the U. S., it will also likely do so in Canada, said a Canadian Auto Workers economist.

Question 4
For those of you who dont think that Chrysler and GM should have to pay back the money taken for the Bailout.?... I have an outline for an essay due of Friday, and I need some help. I need reasons why GM and Chrysler shouldn't have to pay the money back. Please help Me.
Answers
1) There is no reason in the world that they shouldn't pay it back... Although, we as tax payers, will never see a dime of it... - Steve-o
2) Wrong side of the argument, They should re pay with interest.
In the late 70.s Chrysler was headed to bankruptcy and got a bail out to launch their K series of cars, they repaid with interest 5 years ahead of pay off.
It made a legend of their famous CEO, Lee Iaccoca, inventor(?) of the Ford Mustang. - Dan
3) Good luck. The bail outs should be re-paid, the same as any loan that you or I would make. I see no reason for them to be exempt. - badbill1941
4) Sorry, they absolutely need to pay the money back. Where does that leave Ford if they do not?
Free market folks sell what people want or go under.
Full Disclosure- I own own a lot of Ford Stock

5) Well if you do some research on Chrysler, Kitt, you will see that Chrysler has already gone through this in the late 70's and early 80's. And they paid back every cent borrowed with interest and ahead of their deadline. There is no reason why they should not pay back their loans. THEY came to Uncle Sam asking for the money. But even if Uncle Sam had gone to them to offer the loans, they took it and have to pay it back with interest. - Jackolantern

Question 5
how to remove a crank pulley off. will chose best answer?... I removed the pulley bolt after 2hours. Now the pulley does not come off.
I paid $50 for a pulley remover and screwed the large bolt on the pulley remover all the way in (with the large pin), and still did not come off.
Any ideas? will chose best answer thanks
Answers
1) Put a bolt in the end of the crankshaft, or use a nut in front of the pulley remover bolt to back the pulley off a bit, then reset the little hooks on the puller around the inside edge of the pulley and you shouldn't have any problems... they can be tricky but your pulley remover should be the three prong type to equalize the pressure on the pulley. - been there and smarter now
2) theres a bolt way inside where the center puller rod goes. have you removed the bolt and washer?. if so, while turning the puller bolt, every couple turns, rap on the side of the harmonic balancer, with a wood surface. like a hammer handle. sounds like you just removed the pulley bolts. the balancer has a rubber ring holding the outside and inside parts together. its for absorbing engine vibration, so be sure and not hit it hard with a metal object, as you may break the rubber seal and it cant be fixed. so take your time, and it will come. also, if you bottomed out on the puller, back it off an inch or more, and stick a 3/8 large shallow socket against the crankshaft first. like a 11/16ths or larger. then let your puller rod hit the square end of the socket to give you more threads to work with. it'll act like an extension. i bet when you go to put it back on.....it'll fall on.....lol.....good luck - ken m
3) Mopars take a special tool to remove the pully and if you do not have it, you are not going to get it off. I paid about 75 for one from MATCO Tools 10 years ago, sorry
ASE Cert Tech since 1978, 96 T&C, 95 ans 98 Neon (all use same puller) - sci
4) there is only two ways to pull one, steering wheel puller,3ear jar puller most chryslers use the second method get a small or medium 3 jar puller and lock it behing the center part of the puller threw the holes in it, you will see three flat sides of center for puller to go behind.
both methods just leave you bolt in crank about 4 turns and use it to pull against, or get a 3inch extension for a 3/8 drive ratchet this works very well for it fits in the crankshaft. - doyle h
