Is the Chrysler PT Cruiser a cool car for a guy to drive?
I'm looking to buy my first car soon, and I found several 2006-2008 PT Cruisers for sale within my price range. They are hatchbacks with AC, Power windows and lock, MP3 connectivity, etc. Basically fully loaded.
I also really love the styling of them, inside and out. I like retro cars and the PT Cruiser has retro good looks on the exterior and interior.
So, is the PT Cruiser a cool car for a guy?

[Best Answer]It's kind of like buying a Miata... But if you like it, go for it, the HHR is much better IMO in reliability, but I like the PT Cruiser's styling better

Should I put a Six pack Holley Carb on my 1973 Plymouth Fury I Police Interceptor?
It has a V8 400ci, with early emission controlled devices. Also can accept both Leaded and Unleaded fuels(although unleaded gas must be 91 Octane are greater)

[Best Answer]no... It's hard as hell to tune the three carbs. You'll either be bogged down when you're just cruising... or way too lean on the top end. A 750 4 barrel would be perfect for your motor. If you didn't know... the mopar 400 is a bored out 383. Although not as popular as the hemi or the 440. You can run the dog shite out of a 383 all day and it'll ask for more!!! Awesome motor!!!

I would if it was mine.

The six pack set up was horrendously hard to get running right. I would stick with a decent 750 CFM 4 Barrel and a dual plane manifold.

Yup if that is what you want, going for looks and performence, yes, Just balls out performence, then no

Unless you have progressive throttle linkage, I would say no. Trying to synchronize 3 carbs can be a bear. I go along with the others. Stick with a 4 bbl. They work well.

Is the Chrysler sebring convertible hardtop?
On the first page, it says hardtop but then when I tried to build my own, it said cloth top. http://www.chrysler.com/en/2009/sebring_convertible/
Thank you very much in advance! :)
And would you recommend this car?
The new, 2009 model that is online on the link that I have. If I get it, I am getting it in September. I am deciding between a couple different cars right now.

Yes the new one is a retractable hardtop.

It is available both ways. Certain trim levels may only be available with the cloth top. For instance, if there's a 4cyl and a v6, you maybe can only get the hardtop with the V6.
scottjanzer
it looks hard top in the pic, or they just hide the cloth reeeeeeally weelll :P
ahaha, i wouldn't, the mpg is realllly bad for todays economy.
it's like 20-24 mpg
:) i try to smile
Scott is right either or

2000 Chrysler Voyager w/broken timing belt, water pump, needs thermostat and coolant flush?
Van died on the road. It wants to turn over, but it won't start. I had it towed to Firestone. They're telling me that it needs a whole list of stuff.
I ask them, "What does it need to just get it running?"
They say, "A new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and coolant flush."
If the timing belt is indeed broken, I know that it will need to be replaced. And, probably the water pump, too. But, what is the importance of the thermostat and coolant flush? Will the car not run if I don't have a thermostat? Can't I just put Engine Coolant in and not have to "flush" whatever is supposed to be flushed?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Wow. Thanks for answering so quickly! The van is almost at 200,000mi. Can't afford a rebuild, I don't think.
Firestone mechanic did say that it was an interference engine. I didn't know what that meant, but I guess it will make a difference? By the way, I am not at all happy that the car is at Firestone. That was the closest place that I knew of for the tow.

you are talking of many hundreds if not 1000 dollars of work,,,dont worry about the 8 dollar thermostate and 20 dollar flush...in fact the valves may be bent up or head gasget blown....if that engine has 100.000 to 150K miles a bebuilt is the way to go...
pedro7of9
when replacing the water pump yes you do have to drain the coolant and fill again (might as well get a flush) but replacing the thermostat
could be optional unless of course its faulty and/or you never replaced the coolant when you're supposed to. ask your fellow technician if the thermostat can be still used.
what mileage does the van have? if you're exceeding the limit of 100K w/o proper maintenance then you'll due to replace all and service all.
Johnny D
It sounds to me like the water pump broke apart, and destroyed the timing belt. The thermostat has wax inside it to control when it opens and closes, so if it overheated there's a good chance the wax leaked out, and the thermostat will no longer open when it should, causing further overheating. As for the flush, they probably want to make sure there are no broken pieces of water pump in there that will cause further damage. As for having your vehicle serviced by Firestone. Ugh:-(
I too would be worried about valve to piston contact when the belt broke, but I'm not sure offhand if that's an interference engine or not.
I do however know (slightly off topic), from my time as a Dodge tech, that they had a silent recall on the 3.0L heads: If they happened to have them off for any reason, they would cut a small groove in the top of the valve guides with a special tool, and install a snap ring to prevent the guides from sliding down into the runners.
