96 Crystler cirrus clicking when trying to start?

Worked fine to my knowledge the other day... went to go to work and now car won't start... turn the key and a loud clicking over and over happens in the engine... the car gets power since all sensors come on and acts like its gonna start but doesnt... never made this loud clicking either. Any help would be appreciated... already replaced the started fuse.
It is not the starter solenoid, jumped the car and started right up but turned off and wont restart...

The battery could be dead, sounds like the starter doesn't have enough juice to turn over.

It's either your starter solenoid, or your battery.

Easiest is to remove the battery and take it to a parts store and have them test it. A bad battery will allow the lights to show, but there is not enough power to turn over the car.

You might also check the battery connections under the hood to make sure they are clean and tight.

It's the starter itself. 13 years old...needs to be replaced.

1 of 2 things. Flat battery, or bad starter solenoid. You can try and jump the car or get a cheap automotive battery tester from a local shop. If the battery is good and you get the clicks, you will have to replace the starter. The click you hear is the solenoid engaging the little gear that spins the flywheel.

The clicking you hear is the ignition switch sending power to the starter solenoid, which may or may not be engaging all the way...

On a 98 Plymouth Voyager, should the 2 fans on the radiator turn freely with the vehicle off?

The fan on the passenger side turns freely and the one on the drivers side turns only with a lot of effort.

electric fan spins freely, clutch fan needs some effort to move.

The fan should be able to spin freely by hand. A 98 Voyager has an electric fan, not a clutch fan.

Chrysler Town & Country Van~~~Garage Door Remote Hidden in the Ceiling?

Hi! My Dad has a Chrysler Town and Country van and I guess the remote control for the garage door has been nestled somewhere in the vehicle....so that when you push the "button" inside the van the garage door goes up. Well, now it's time to sell the van and my Dad doesn't know exactly where that remote was nestled inside his vehicle. Does anyone have any clues for me to help him locate it and remove it???? I thank you for your help!!!

This van is 2000 Chrysler Town & Country van. And again, my Dad says the remote for the GARAGE DOOR is actually buried somewhere in the vehicle. Does this make any sense....or who is somehow "programmed" to open the door without any physical Remote Control being in the car????

The opener is built into the van, to my knowledge there is no way to physically remove it.The owner's manual has instructions on how to "clear" the memory.

dodge has this neat little feature.its not something you can remove i think. its optional and not sure exactly how it works, read about it in my bosses owners manual for his crew cab dually,that and it came with 1 yr free xm radio but he didnt turn it on because he didnt know(build sheet for that)

You don't remove the vehicle transmitter but they are usually in the same place the push button is located which can be in the visor or in the ceiling console (I don't know where they are on your vehicle).

If you have a newer opener w/ a smart or learn button you erase the memory on the opener by holding the learn button. You then have to reprogram all the other transmitters you still have by using the same learn button.

If you have an older opener w/ dip switches you change the settings on the motor head & change the transmitter ones to match.

Is there a way to stroke a plymouth slant 6 (225 cid)?

I have a 75 duster, looking to get a little more power while keeping the stock engine.

The 225 slant 6 was allready a stroked engine. It started life as a 170 cubic incher, then went to 198 cubic inches. Then a new block was made that was taller so the stroke could be lengthened to give the 225.
Later years there was a 2 barrell carbed 225 made for the ASpen/Volare cars. It also had narrower main and rod bearings for reduced friction and thus more power.
The slant 6 head can be milled 30 thousandths easily to raise compression a bit.@ barrell, exhaust header with dual exhaust will help . Also I recurved the distributor in my 1974 slant 6. 42 degree total and 10 degrees initial.

What made the 2.7L Dodge/Chrysler Unreliable?

What was the cause of this engine being unreliable for a decent amount of people? What was the cause of so many engine failures? Was it a single component in the engine or...? Thanks.

the oil returns in the heads were to small and when they get older the sludge build up kept the oil from returning to the crank case so they starved for oil and would end up getting rod knock.the heads can be reworked but it is very,very expensive to have done.

The engine was built by Mitsubishi. Failed timing chains were the most common result well-before 60K miles. Also "oil sludge"
