No. The Vectra is far from being a great car but the Chrysler Neon is an unreliable piece of crap.

Colin T has taken the words right out of my mouth!

No chance. Neons are rubbish and as popular as a second hand dog pooh.
Despite what some say (and almost always people who've never owned one) Vectras are decent cars.

No No No No NO NO NO NO NO never why would you even contemplate that. Don't go near that Chrysler will break down and cost you outrageous amounts to fix.

World crate engine (632 ci) into a 71 roadrunner with a previous 383.... can it be done?

i have the 71 roadrunner roller and i have my eyes on a World Products 632 800 horsey Merlin. if this isnt possible i'll just put it into my dad's Chevelle but that would stink because i was going to race him! if it doesnt fit into the roadrunner without any body fab are there other bodies it would fit in besides a Chevelle? thanks!

[Best Answer]you're going to need so much modification it's not going to be worth it to be honest. and 100s of hours of fab and mock up. and putting it in a chevelle ain't going to be any easier. you would've been better off with a 540 blown hemi making a lot more horse 900+ and it'd fit into the roadrunner with less modification. however droppin it in a charger is going to be just as complicated. charger's the exact same as the roadrunner but with dodge slapped on it. anything over 540cid is way to much modification. a 440 that's bored out .060 over and injected with big injectors can push 800 horse if it's built right. and that 383 can push 500-600 horse if it's built right especially if it was an interceptor motor. bottom line if you're going to race daddy's chevelle and it's got a 396 go but a dart with a 727 and tear a 383 out of a fury interceptor it'll bolt right up to the 727 and you ain't got to change the motor mounts however it's a good idea seeing as how that car WILL bring the front tires at least a foot and a half off the ground. put 3.27 rear gears in it and that'll blow the doors off any chevy. that's a fact that's the same drivetrain my dad had in his 68 dart. and it'll fly. that's what i'd do.

Why would you want to totally destroy a rare muscle car like that? It takes half the money and effort to preserve the road runner and keep it factory, and you will get a lot more enjoyment and value out of it. If you get tired of it, you will make more money on it in proper order than fooling around with it the way you propose.

if you know what a crate engine is you should know
mjmik1

Why not get a crate 426 hemi with a bds in it? Or you can go real crazy and build a 440 stroke with a blower and twin turbo's,( should be able to squeeze 1000 out of that ) never seen it done but with money it can be fabricated. Just hang onto the 383 as a spare

its called limited slip differential. and burning out in an automatic is a bad idea, its so easy to drop the trany
Joe S

Traction control is stopping it.
done wrenching

its called traction control but you should have a button on the dash to turn it off so you can tear up you're car.
Steve

no tranny has ever been dropped just abused

so you are not getting spark right?.
it could also be the cam shaft sensor, on the front.
bet get the trouble codes.
asilancair

Put gas in the tank.
Is the fuel pump working?
Is the fuel filter clogged?

Change your spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, and coil.

Check all fuses and relays.
Jamie D

DO NOT replace coil until you've done your homework! The engine computer looks to many sensors for inputs and signals before telling the coil to fire. A no spark condition does not point directly to the coil or distributor. A Chiltons or a Haynes manual with schematics is the first $20 you should spend. Depending on your engine, the coil/dist assy could be over $150. Feel like rolling the dice on that, or would you rather do your homework first? Good luck.

A simple free thing to try is swapping out the ASD relay (ASD = Auto Shut Down), it controls both spark and fuel and will not let the car start when it's gone bad.

It is in the fuse/relay block under the hood along with several other relays, some of which are the same. The cover for this junction block will have a chart showing where the relay is located, then look for one with the same number stamped on top. Switch it with a known good relay that is non-essential to the vehicle running (such as A/C compressor) and see if it starts then. If none of the others have the same number on them, the radiator fan uses the same relay, but do not run it for very long without this relay as it could overheat the engine without that relay.

If this fixes it, go buy a new relay for around $13 from the dealer. If it doesn't fix it, take it to the dealership repair center, or your trusted, well qualified local repair shop and have them fix it for you before you spend a lot of money replacing parts while chasing the problem. Diagnostic fee is usually around $100, and that can be spent very quickly replacing wrong parts.

1998 grand voyager van where does the brake fluid go and the transmisission fluid go?

Asked by: Krystal Clean Janitorial C @ 2009-04-13 11:07:51

The brake fluid goes on the brakes and the transmission fluid goes on the transmission. Please don't ask where the lighter fluid goes, okay?
rickle2552

I suggest you get help before adding any fluid.
Rudy H

The break fluid goes in the Master Cylinder Fluid chamber. It should say something like DOT3 on the top. Transmission fluid goes down the transmission fluid dip stick flute.
The Ben Stevens Project

consult you're local chrysler dealer but if you would like to try yourself see you're owners manual.
