it does. my daddy raised me on ford, and my dream car is a '69 mach 1 mustang. the only time we ever had a Chrysler, we had to fix it so many times, we had to give it to a salvage yard.

Geeze, just because you have a bad experience with a Chrysler doesn't mean the same thing couldn't happen to a GM or Ford product. Each of the big 3 had stinkers from time to time.
Jefferson

it doesn't.

DODGE ROCKS!

Stop hating on just one American product...they're all bad. But then again I'd love to have a 300C SRT8. Apart from that, a select few Chevys, the Dodge Viper and Challenger, and the Cadillac CTSV, the general majority of American vehicles suck.
Murcie_LP640

Me too! It was Lee Icocca who mistrusted Bob Eaton, who sold Chrysler to Daimler. It was Daimler that robbed all the Chrysler cash reserve and messed up the company structure. It was those corrupted management and UAW who helped to destroy the company in a much rapid pace. Among the 3 auto companies, Chrysler is the most corrupted one with the worst product quality and customer service records.
Confused ...

Shaun, Shaun, Shaun, Chrysler cannot possibly suck as bad as your knowledge of the english language, dude. I've owned a few Chrysler products over the years, and still do. They've taken quite a beating, and I'll continue driving them.

Why UAW prefers chapter 11 over concession at Chrysler?

Asked by: Confused ... @ 2009-04-15 15:09:07

[Best Answer]They are, and always have been, short minded.

They would rather keep things the way they are take their chances after bankruptcy than renegotiate and be exposed for the frauds they are.
In the minds of the CAW/UAW, if they conceded now, someone might find out that they serve no real purpose in the current economy.

That's a very good question, however I would suspect that one would have to ask this question of the national union management, i.e. the president of the UAW. Could it be that he and his cohorts don't want to take a cut in their salaries? Bet you life on it! Unions are a thing of the past! They have long outlived their use fullness! 60 or more years ago unions were a needed thing. Today the only thing they have done is price the american auto manufacturer out of business.
itsjustme

Who said they did?The UAW has been in talks with GM and Chrysler.

First of all,,do more reading The UAW does not prefer chapt 11 over concessions. Under bankruptcy law, if they declare chapt 11 then the contract becomes null and void. Doesnt sound like a 'WIN" to me! The federal mediators will rework a new contract. That should scare anyone! If we as a union make concessions at least we will have some control of our future. And yes, there are elements of our union that are wrong. Our stewards spend 95% of their time saving the asses of 5% of the workers that would and should be fired. But without the labor unions there would be a lot fewer worker protections that you take for granted that you dont even know about.

I haven't read about such a thing. But if that were true, then that would mean that the soviet would be in control of the proletariat. Hasn't that been their dream since the 30's?

The Aspen, like the other full-sized SUV's, is big and it takes some adjusting to, especially when parking. After about a day, you will get used to it. If yours is equipped with the rear camera, you'll really appreciate it, especially when parking and towing. The additional features are great.
C-Tech

just a dressed up durango.no harder to drive than a truck.
Steve

It wont take long to get use to it and once you do you wont want to drive a small car again. The Aspen is a good looking SUV.

Overheating Sebring, to fix or not to fix....?

My 01' Chrysler Sebring overheated last week. Precision Tune told me the water outlet was broken, but it is drivable as long as I have water in it. They gave me a quote right around $450 to fix it. A mom & pop mechanic gave me the price of $275 to fix it. (Precision Tune charged $215 for the part and the other mechanic $27.) My radiator was filled with water at the mechanic's, and I have filled it only 1 time since then, which was just a few hours after leaving the mechanic's. I've been checking the water each time I drive and haven't noticed a difference in the level. What could be going on here? Are they just trying to get my money? Did it just need water? Or is it really in need of repair?

I would guess the tech re-torqued the bolts holding down the housing, or when the engine heats up the crack opens larger.
This is a easy fix for a novice mechanics but new housing might have to be purchased from Chrysler dealership.

Definitely worth fixing if you do it right away and don't cause more damage.

I would be afraid of overheating the car,and cracking the head or blowing a head gasket.... 300.00 and a couple hours, is better than losing an engine....
Sophie B

See how much the dealer charges (or online moparparts.com) and see if the mom & pop will install it. It is worth replacing the housing rather than replacing the engine.
C-Tech

R C and C teck and the other lady are 100percent right! Get that fixed asap, if u got to a 5 star chrysler dodge dealer they will charge more but they are trained to fix it right and have the parts easily available, remember with most dealers u pay more but are paying for better Quality repairs good dealers will back there work too.

Try
yearone.com
shortmama7j

possibly in autotrader.com or oldcartrader.com ??
not 2 B fooled

very tough restoration as not a lot of reproduction parts are made currently for the 71-74 B bodies

I would try Desert Valley Auto parts in Phoenix - very expensive but very good quality parts

Other than that go to swap meets

You have to go to a good all mopar junkyard for what you need.Unless you can find a doaner car...Your best bet is to find a satellite the same year as your car...You will pay dearly for junk yard parts.Wildcats in oregon will have your parts. They have 40 arces of mopars..Me i,d find a doaner car...Then you,ll have all you need excet for the engine...The 383 is pretty easy to find...
