Question 3
i have a 1998 chyrsler concord that the alarm is got the motor in lock down?...  the engine will not turn over . everthing works battery is good. does anybody know how to reset the factary alarm with out a scaner????????????????

Answers
1)   i have a 98 concorde if you do not have the alarm key ring you have to unlock the car on the front passenger side. i have to always unlock my car that way or my alarm system will go off. sounds like the anti-theft system is engaged (automatic shut down relay). if that don't help i would get under the hood to the main fuse box and pull out all the main fuses and disconnect the battery to see if it will reset. - Anthony

2)   Do you have one of those keys with a chip in it?? if that is the case try this,,, disconnect the battery for two hours, you may have a problem with the key and may need to put an scanner,
good luck.. - class4

3)   First, lets clear a few things up here, the ASD relay (Auto Shut Down) is a safety device. When the vehicle is in an accident, it cuts off power to the ignition system and fuel pump, in other words, it removes spark and fuel from the engine. It will not prevent the starter from spinning.

Also, if you have the Sentry key system (the keys have a grey plastic head on them), then if there's a problem with one key, try using a different key. But, it will go in lockout mode if you try a bad key a few times unsuccessfully. Let the car sit for an hour or two (with the battery connected!), this will let it run down the timer for the lockout mode. Sure, you can disconnect the battery, but you lose all of your settings (such as radio presets, and any personalized settings on the car).

Now, if it's not starting, and not even cranking, chances are it's something else because the Sentry system will normally let it start, then die within a few seconds.

Try unlocking the passenger side door if the alarm is being triggered (horn will blow and lights will flash when alarm is triggered). IF the alarm isn't being triggered, you have a different problem that could be any one of several different things. It'd be best to have it properly diagnosed instead of chasing the problem by replacing a bunch of different things before knowing for sure what's wrong. - Mark B

Question 4
PT Cruiser question ? Can you pump the tyres up again?...  with normal gas or do you have to use helium/nitrogen again ?

thanks.
oh really ?? lol... am learning everyday !

Answers
1)   Just simply use regular compressed air - it's 78% nitrogen. - LeAnne

2)   Hi Isabelle.

Well to be honest with you, this is what I think. If your tire uses nitrogen before, you should use the same thing again unless you have the time to check the tire each month like of us do. Using nitrogen is good if you don't mind to spend $40 dollars to fill it up. It's really better than regular air because it's more stable and less prone to changes in pressure due to heat and cold.

If you already know don't worry about it, but most racing cars uses nitrogen due to better rolling resistance. That's why most aircraft/airplane's tire uses nitrogen due to high speed take off and landing.

As we already know, regular air is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% other gases, but the 21%oxygen can make a difference due to moisture as opposed to 100% nitrogen inside a tire which makes the inside dryer than tires that uses regular air.

Edit: Being said and done, it's all up to you. You can use a regular air but when you do that, you are defeating the purpose of the manufacturer's specification. Maybe there's a reason why they uses a nitrogen. I remember some problems about tires blowing up sometime ago (Ford Explorer?), and I believed that could be the reason why. - oxo_07

Question 5
best alternator for 2000 plymouth breeze?...  witch alternator should i buy for a 2000 plymouth breeze 2.4 liter 16 valve dohc engine?is ac delco or duralast good alternators?im also looking for lifetime warranty alternator.my car has reached 100.072 miles.i hearing a noise coming from the alternator.could be bad bearings, wear tear and needs to be replace.doesn't have to be high end alternators.mid end alternators will do just fine.i don't go for cheap alternators.and what alternator did the manufactures put in the 2000 plymouth breeze?is it a chrysler alternator or other?hope this help.thanks ppl.

Answers
1)   Really they probably are pretty much the same. I'd go with whichever one has the best warranty, as long as the price isnt drastically higher than the other.
If its making noise-its probably going bad. With that many miles on the car its probably a good idea to replace it before it quits all together and gets you stuck somewhere. - Starship Pain

2)   First you need to know that all alternators sold at your local auto parts stores are rebuilt (re-manufactured) and the price difference is usually in the warranty offered. You could also contact a local alternator shop and get a price on rebuilding the one you have and what type of warranty they offer.
Good luck to you. - Richard G
