Need Help with 2001 Chrysler Sebring?

Question 1
Need Help with 2001 Chrysler Sebring?...  I have a 2001 Chrysler Sebring. The engine died on it and I am in the process of getting it replaced. The mechanic has got a new engine and put it in but now it wont start. It will crank but will not turn on. The mechanic was thinking it was an "electronics issue" and he even got a different engine and the same problem happened. It will crank really strong but just will not start. Is this a security system issue or fuses, maybe anti theft ? As far as I know there is not an alarm system on the car. It is a 2.7 L DOHC 24 valve for a chrysler sebring. Please if anyone knows whats wrong I don't want to lose out on $1250.

Answers
1)   Some mechanic you got there. Does it have spark? Is it getting fuel? Does your "mechanic" have a scanner to plug into the cars computer to check for codes? There are some many things that could be wrong there's no way for anyone to help you without seeing the car. Sorry. - aircooledjaf

2)   Have you look at the computer it may be bad a bad computer will not let the car start it will crank all day but if the computer is bad it will not start at all - STEELERS Nation( THE JOY OF SIX)

3)   Maybe he installed the engine backwards - Dan

4)   There are electronic differences in the 2.7L engines. If your mechanic got a later model 2.7L engine, the timing slots on the flexplate and the cam timing wheel are different from yours. You may need to trans fer those parts from your old engine to the newer one. Good luck. Check allpar.com, they have a complete section on this type of engine swap. - C-Tech

Question 3
How to set the clock for my 1990 Plymouth Acclaim?...  I just bought my first car-- a 1990 Plymouth Acclaim-- and for some reason I can't figure out how to set the digital clock. I consulted the manual that came with it, but it just says to check a separate manual for instructions on how to set it. I don't have the other manual, so I was just hoping somebody could tell me how to do it. I would really appreciate it.

1)   You should have gotten a Ford. - Crest C

2)   If the radio is factory installed you should find two small holes on the right hand side of the radio with a H and a M under them. Turn the radio on and punch with a ball point pen in the H for the hour and M for the minutes. - James

3)   James could be correct but I think the H and M came a little later about '92.

I think on the '90 models you had to use the "SET" button on the radio to set the correct time. You pushed the SET button until a single number digit was displayed on the dial, this was the hour, turn the station tuning knob until the current hour is displayed, press the SET button again and two digits will be displayed, this will be the minutes, again turn the tuning knob until the current minutes are displayed. I believe you press the SET button again until the radio frequency is displayed and you're good to go on time.

The radio must be on to accomplish this and my directions could be off a little but that is the basic idea, the SET button must be used to set the time and it is also used to set the radio stations to the buttons under the display. If I remember correctly, the volume knob is used to set the display to showing the time after tuning a station, the frequency will be displayed for five or so seconds than will change to the time. If you wish not to see the time push the volume knob and the time will not be displayed just the radio frequency. - Don't know everything !

4)   the answer from "don't know everything" is correct. i worked for Chrysler at the time, and what he is saying is dead on. i hope the car works out well for you. - Mike

I have a chrysler 300 and i have a cd stuck in the cd player. How did i get it out?...

Answers
1)   I would suggest taking the cd player out and then taking it apart and buy a new cd player to go back in a car. - Jacob

2)   Use some eyebrow plucker's, or a tooth pick if you want to drag it out. - adam

3)   The only two I've ever removed successfully required me to remove the CD player, a factory AM/FM cassette/CD player in my wife's '97 Dakota and a JVC unit, had to take both units apart to remove CDs. - Don't know everything !

4)   Most cd players have a tiny hole in the front that you can use a needle etc and place it in there to release the cd, or find the cd players fuse and disconnect it for a few mins this should reset the unit and then the cd should come out by itself.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way there should be two fuses one for the switchable ignition feed and another for the constant ignition feed for the stereo you want to remove the constant or both fuses. - helpful bob
